ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Nov 8, 2009 Thanks to Bob for sharing this! Brown pour with copperish hues. Light roast and coffee on the nose. Dark fruit, coffee, roast and light acidity BeerandBlues2 (3201), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours black with an average, fizzy light brown head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, toasted grain, coffee), light hop (herbs), average yeast (leather, leaves) with notes of plum, wood, and charcoal. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. sbroome (69), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA Oct 28, 2009 the liquor store dude said this was comparable to "peche mortel." um, nope. not even close. pours black like peche. tan head like peche. nose of heavy alcohol like peche (despite being only 6%). taste is weak and nothing really resembling coffee. a stout, yes! a coffee stout? come on, there are many better. gyllenbock (238), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 21, 2009 Dark, almost black color with a brown head.
Roasted malt, chocolate and of course coffee (espresso) in aroma. The same in the flavor. Body was medium. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Oct 14, 2009 Bottle.

Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Unexciting, but better than the other Nils Oscar brews I’ve had so far. Quite serviceable. porterhouse (1148), Alna, Maine, USA Oct 12, 2009 (330 ml bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Pours very dark brown with ruby-amber highlights. Two fingers of khaki head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee - unremarkable really. Smooth mouthfeel, medium-full, a bit fizzy. Flavor of chocolate and coffee, leaning more toward coffee and almost coffee syrup-like. Medium bitter and light hint of grassiness. OK, not really any big deal but good if you like concentated coffee flavor. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 9, 2009 Draft. A very dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has strong notes of coffee and roasted malt as well as medium notes of espresso beans and malt. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of espresso as well as medium notes of roasted malt and sweet malt, and light notes of soy sauce, leading to a dry coffee finish. Rune (2744), Tromsø, Norway Oct 1, 2009 Draught, served at a fine drinking temperature at De Klomp in Linköping, Sweden. Near-black body under a minimal, off-white head. Dark and rather sweet coffee malts to the nose. Coffee grounds in flavour mixed with quick hints of bitter, dark fruits towards the ending. The perfect drink after a great mussel buffet at the pub. Enjoyed in a happy atmosphere 02.09.2009.
