Clear deep amber beer. Decent pale cream coloured head. Light crisp palate. Minerals. The malt is lagerish with a little bitter caramel. Tangy orange and a little tea. Semi dry finish with mild tangy orange bitterness. All right.

Bottle, bought @ systembolaget, hyltebruk. Pours clear copper golden with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has sweet caramel, light toasted, mild rye bread, light brewing cereal. Medium carbonation, fine dry malty mouthfeel. Flavour has toasted caramel malts, soft grass. Good malty bitterness. Okay attempt at the style.

Pleasant aroma, taste and palate, but I’m not thrilled. [short review due to it coming from my backlog]

330ml bottle from Cellars, Western Road, Billericay, drunk today. Altbier. Clear amber-orange. Pours good white-yellow head, small bubbles, lasting well. Mid carb. Aroma - Dryish lageriness, bit yeasty and lots of fruity (berries & dark fruit, with a touch of citrus peel), toffeeish & bready malt, with some musky spice. Bit of solventy fruit & nutty alcohol. Quite like the aroma on this; unusual, but interesting. Unfortunately, the taste doesn’t live up to the aroma; the fruity toffee bready malt flavour is too OTT, without any depth or balance to it (underhopped; hardly any bitterness on the finish, or any hop flavours) and the body is too thin. The fruit flavours seem too perfumey on the tongue and one-dimensional. Bit of an unpleasant yeast too. Taste just seems to fade away on the finish & little aftertaste. This beer needs fleshing out and the cloying malt & perfumey palate need toning down.

Bottle. Pale amber color. caramel and dust in the soft bready aroma. Caramelly sweetish flavor with some vegetable notes. Hint of grassy hops. Drinkable.

What happened when they did this beer? The scent is not over-strong. The taste is very metallic and not good. The aftertaste is not really there. Do not try this beer. Yikes!

Bottle. Clear copper / light amber color with a minimal head. Aroma of caramel and pilsner style hops. Slightly salty taste of malt. Some oiliness. It’s a well made Altbier.
