33cl bottle, BBE 11/2012. Poured copper color with a frothy, white head. Aroma is heavy malty, bready and toasty. Flavor has light vegetable notes, bready malt and cocoa. Bitter finish. Thin body.

Bottle. Light bronze body, small white head. Nose is nuts, roasty caramel and hints of something reminiscent of manure (first!) and grains. But in a good way. :-) Taste is burnt sugar, nuts, hints of the characteristic cellar must (which I often find in Swedish micros and most particularly in Nils Oscar’s beers) and wood. Dry finish with hints of caramel. Smooth and nice mouthfeel. Pleasant, though not very challenging.

courtesy of Per - clear dark reddish beer under a persistent beige foam; pretty aromatic nose of flowers and caramel; medium-bodied, quite tasty; some late earthy tartness and a low bitterness; long and charming flowery and earthy finish - very nice

33cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Deep amber in colour with a thin cream head; the aroma is amazing, a fresh almond croissant, complete with a dusting of icing sugar - sweet and malty; soft in the mouth with fruity malt flavours, that don’t reaaly live up to the aroma; and dry, herbal, bitterness to finish. I’m not entirely sure that this is an Alt, but it’s very good whatever it is.

33 cl bottle from Systembolaget, BB SEP 2012, sampled on June 25, 2012
Clear copper "Trocadero" color, medium sized lasting tan head, rather pretty and pleasing to the eye. Sweet, candy, fruity, herbal, malty, caramel, grainy, refreshing scent. Malty, metallic, caramel, bitter, herbal, hoppy, bread, grainy taste. Dry grainy finish. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness that is a bit dry and chalky. Nice, drinkable, fresh, malty, tasty.

Aroma and taste of grainy malt, raisins, fruit and hops. Bitterness is nice and a little grassy.

330ml bottle. Clear dark yellow color. Thin layer of froth. Good lacing. Hops, metallic, bit dusty notes in aroma. Slight bitter, hops in flavor.

Rune (8928) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JUN 3, 2012
330ml bottle bought at Systembolaget Kiruna. Concrete-like, off-white head, some of it remaining all the way. Laces well. Clear, golden-brown body. Malty aroma, nuances of bread and nuts. Malty taste giving way to leafy hops and added by mild spices and a bite of almond. Bittersweet on the swallow. Feels stronger than the abv suggests. Loses some of its flavour after a while, still good drinking. Gets an extra score for the name (Tromsø, 28.05.2012).
