Aroma: Exotic fruits, lightly roasted, earth, tobaco, perfume, licorice and some bitter hops. Flavor: Not as sweet as the aroma, roasted malt, nuts, tobaco, licorice, hops, and a bit of sweet fruit. Blom (568), Odense, Denmark Mar 30, 2008 Amber with almost no head. Aroma of straw, mandarin and nuts. Good mixture of hoppy bitterness and caramel makes for a nice ale. mybestfriend (226), Gothenburg, Sweden Mar 25, 2008 (Bottle from Systembolaget - when i return homeI saw that the bottle was marked Best Before nov 2007).
Pours an amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma was very malty with notes of caramel. It also had some more mature notes of dried fruits. Very nice! Flavour had an unpleasant sourness to it with malty notes of caramel. The finish was some roasted malts and some bitterness. Flavourwise the bottle really had passed its best days - at the same time actually think that the ageing might have improved the aroma. I’ll try a more fresh bottle in the future. chris_o (4395), London, Greater London, England Feb 17, 2008 Bottle at Orsted Olbar, May 2006. Pale copper colour. Touches of grassy hops in the aroma but dry malt predominates. Clean and easy drinking. I’m not sure quite what I expected from a "farm" ale, perhaps a bit of rustic saison-like quality but I didn’t really get that. Not unlike a BRitish best bitter really. Decent drinking but not very exciting.
MPA (423), Nørrebro(formerly Aalborg), Denmark Jan 29, 2008 Bottle. Dark amber with beige head. Aroma of caramel, bread and malt along with some slight citric hops. Sweet, slightly burned malty flavour with notes of toffee and a fair hoppy input of freshness ending in a decent bitter finish. This is easily a very accessible beer and one that quenches ones thirst easily. A bit on the light side though.
