Nose is a nice combination of tobacco, coffee, and chocolate with a little bit of sweet dried fruit in there. Sweet flavor of coffee, smoke, chocolate, and sugary fruit. Sweet roasty mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, malty and sweet.
This is quite nice, lots of roast but I’m not sure that it has the body to last another three years.

tlind2 (560), Helsinki, Finland Aug 7, 2008 330 ml bottle @ Poirotti, Helsinki. Very dark brown color, low tan head. Dark malty aroma, coffee. Lots of juicy dark malts and licorice in the taste. Well-balanced, with just enough of everything, but it doesn’t really stand out among Imperial stouts. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a small diminishing foamy tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso and roasted malt along with light green hops and some cream. Flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, green hops and a bit of alcohol. Roasty, bitter coffee finish. Creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Very good stuff and a nice example of the style. CharlesDarwin (1824), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Aug 3, 2008 33cL Bottle. Nice salty roast. Oak and chocolate. Spicy. Simple, molassed and fresh. Pour deep black-brown with a frothy build of creamy tan. Flavor is piquant. A sharp, acidic roast. Not creamy. Biting and roasted. A nip of caramel. Toasted. A simple, singular flavor. But, nice, crisp and clean. Dry. Nicely fermented. Delicious and well-done. No overwhelming alcohols.
