Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Jun 27, 2008 great strong aroma. coffee, licirce, roasted stuff. pitch black with small yellow head. taste is roasted stuff, charchoal, fruits, reminds me of beer geek’s breakfast and ølfabrikken porter. aftertaste is very nice, good blend. well balanced although the roasted notes dominate. great stout. lots of taste for a 7% alc. i downed 2/3 of the bottle while rating cause it’s sooo drinkable.. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 This is a quite good beer with good and with some essence of toasty and coffee and slight roasted malts. this is good to have after a good meal. nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 17, 2008 The aroma is roasted with malt, cream, coffee, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma but burnt. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s good. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 14, 2008 Updated: Oct 1, 200833cl. Opaque with a creamy one-finger head that lasts. Coffee, milk chocolate and light charred wood in the nose. Complex flavors of milk chocolate, raisin, fig, metallic molasses, prickly-sweet herbs, coffee, dried hickory, sour cream, char, caramel and smoke. Heavy body is mostly smooth, but a bit frothy with carbonation at times, tingly and dry on the long roasty finish. Best FS (by far) I have sampled to date. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jun 11, 2008 Bottle. Dark rich chocolate aroma with some nuts there also. Black body with tan head. Flavor reminded me of an oatmeal stout. Flavor had a sweetness to it that was typical of a Foreign stout. Smooth and easy on the palate, good beer. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Jun 10, 2008 This black ale poured with a creamy tan head and a strong roasted malt aroma. There is a chewy chocolate and coffee flavor that is intense, yet not overwhelming. This is a very smooth drink with nothing but good flavors. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Jun 9, 2008 Pours very dark brown, nearly black, with a 1 cm tall tan head. Roasted coffee, vanilla, brown sugar, barley, cocoa, and cream. The nose is deceptive as the taste is more bitter than advertised. A solid amount of chocolate and coffee, but the resiny hops come out. Just enough to let you know they are there. Good caramel, vanilla, walnut, and oats in there as well. Very good representative of the style. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Jun 8, 2008 Courtesy of Gillard. Pours dark brown with thin mocha head. The aroma is roasty with mildly burnt malts that nearly manage to cover up some faint molasses. It is fairly rich in aroma but on the mild side in strength. The taste is rich and roasty followed by mild burnt malts and sweet molasses. There’s also a thin layer of caramel and nuttiness in there too. A bit thin for the style especially side by side tonight with Dark Lord, Darkness, Boris The Crusher and Witch Doctor.
