Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Bottle courtesy of Shyam. Pours a jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, chocolate, roasted barley. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, roasted barley. Nice slick mouthfeel. Pretty good imperial stout, but the price will keep me from buying again.

Very dark brown color with a taller uniform bubbled, creamy tan head. Dark caramel, hints of roasted malt and dark chocolate with a little gastric juice and grain.Slick smooth and fairly light feel. Flavors are balance and full. Mild roast and dark caramel flavors. Some hint of cola. Mild salt water toffee. Balanced and a brew that tweaks the senses, but doesn’t present a big mind melting performance.

I’d agree with the foreign stout aspect. Deep brown and almost no head. Nose is rich and chocolatey, with burnt smells and coffee. Body is a bit thin but the taste is really nice. A bit warming. Rich roastiness, some grain and acridity. Pretty nice foreign...

Bottle, Stockholm. Pours brown but appears black in the glass. Full, light brown foam lasts well. Aroma hints of prunes and other dark fruits, along with notes of espresso roast and freshly baked brownie. Flavor is awfully complex, with notes of dark fruit, chocolate and coffee. Lots of taste for its size. Great malt expression. Really great beer.

Firstly, I am not a fan of stouts. My palate is not that sophisticated yet. This poured almost black, with a creamy head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. I get big coffee taste with a hint of chocolate and vanilla. Thin mouth feel and bitter. Not too bad.

Pours jet black with minimal head. Aroma is weak but of some coffee. Taste is medium dry. Coffee, and roasted malt. Some hops peek through.

Bottled. An almost black beer with a huge and persistent light brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, with notes of chocolate, but also coffee and a good, maybe excessive amount of hops. The flavour has big coffee notes and chcolate, licorice and hops. good roastiness and light acidity. Medium body, lively carbonation, medium/long finish with light to medium bitterness. A good beer, not extreme for the style.

Very good stout. Almost black, with creamy head. Especially good on the apperance and aroma, weak point is palate.
