Nils Oscar Imperial Stout

Bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours opaque with a small, light brown head, mostly lasting with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, caramel, nutty), light hops (grass), heavy yeast (leather) with notes of toffee, brown sugar, and dates. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. Flavors of cocoa and milk.

33cl - Thanks MrWalker - international trade in 2006 - Aroma of dark chocolate, burnt malts, tobacco, soy sauce and leather. Pours black with no head and good lacing. Flavor of burnt malts, chocolate, caramel, vanilla and tobacco. Palate is sticky and ashy. A very tasty foreign stout.

bottle from pizza port. Black with a fizzy tan head. Good sweet chocolate taste with coffee notes on the back end. Weak aroma but chocolate evident.

From Superbrugsen, Aarhus Bottled Black Liquorice and caramel on a nice malty bed and chokolate sweetness

(Bottle, 2003 vintage) Pours a black body with a spare tan head. Aroma of chocolate, light coffee, roasted malt, and a touch of smoke. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, and some black licorice with a mildly bitter finish.

Acquired via liquidsolutions. Pours a reasonably thick dark black that allows light through, one finger creamy tan head. Not as robust as I expected. The aroma is roasty, coffee, soy sauce, molasses. The flavor was roasty, soy sauce, coffee, a little sweet, nice waxy finish. The palate is nice and full and velvety on the tongue. Not my favorite impy, but still nice.

The color was dark brown/black. The head was thin, creamy, and off-white. The aroma was coffee, roasty, and sweet. The flavor was coffee, light hops, roast, and sweet malt. The palate was smooth. The finish was roasty.

Wow, now thats what I call a good stout. Good chocolate and coffee.. very aparent changes in taste. burnt malt amazing aroma
