Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Pours black with thin head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and anise. Flavor is extremely smokey with a good amount of licorice to make this one a fairly unique Imperial Stout. Pretty light for the style, but not bad at all.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with mahogany-hued edges and a thin, wispy off-white head. Smell: Aroma of roasted malt with complimentary notes of dark chocolate, black coffee, and licorice. Hint of mint. Taste: Roasted maltiness with a brief, mild sweetness. Flavors of bittersweet chocolate, licorice, and coffee. Again, there’s that hint of mint. Roast-driven bitterness. The taste of dark caramel and a rebound of sweetness perk up near the finish. Spicy, roasty finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Pleasantly warming alcohol presence. Drinkability: Well-rounded, flavorful and fairly decent overall for being on the lighter end of the style.

Rich roasted malt nose with faint chocolate and coffee. Dark brown body with faint brown head. Lots of mocha and chocolate intermingled with the strong roasted malt flavor.

black with no head. flavor is dark chocolate, molasses, and mocha. some sweet cream. awesome flavor. medium bodied. roasty chocolate aroma but not that robust. bottles states that abv is 7.0%. i would call this more of a regular stout opposed to an imperial.

50 cl. bottle. Nice, roasty, soft and medium bodied stout which is quite carbonated (for an imperial stout to be). I don’t think it would be unreasonable to suggest that one should age this stout for a couple of years, and thereby this promising beer will carry the title: Imperial more appropriately.

Bottle at home ... Ive twice had samples of this but held of rating knowing ive got a bottle at home ... Having had 2 this evening that just didnt cut it i knew i wanted a nice safe beer ... Deep solid black ... off white head ... rich dark chocolate slightly smokey nose ... good mouth feel with a silky smooth milky chocolate base ... rich roast malts ... touch of burnt roast but at the level that complients the beer rather than lead the flavour.

Roasty fruitiness meets black molasses in a surprisingly full malt body for the brewery...Fine carbonation let’s plenty of room for the chocolate and lingering roasty bitterness.

330ml Bottle: Aroma is on the sweet side. Smells of chocolate, coffee, roasting, and cream. Poured black in color with a small beige head that diminished. No lacing. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and cream. Medium body. Dry texture. Soft carbonation. Dry, malty, chocolate finish.
