Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Pours near black with ruby hues and a full receding tan head. Notes of bakers chocolates, rum, vanilla, red wine, fruit jam and caramel. Full bodied and winey with lively carbonation. A very elegant and delicious beer.

Bottle. Pours boring black with minimal head. Nose is dark roasted malt, molasses, black coffee, dark chocolate. Taste follows similar with bitter bite and watery mouthfeel. Becomes almost slightly sour and very bitter, watery, but flavors are still good for and I.S. Not bad for a try.

Very nice. Dark dark brown with tan head. Hefty aroma of cocoa and baking chocolate and some dark fruit and raspberries. Nice syrupy thickness to the palate, small bubbles, a tiny bit watery, nutty, neutral finish.

33 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a Maudite snifter.

App.: Deep brown-black with a so-so might mocha head. Aroma: Lots of rich, oily molasses, soy sauce, quite fruity, slightly vinous, some black licorice, dark chocolate, light esters of cotton candy, a hint of alcohol and of hops. Palate: Medium+ body, moderate effervescence. Flav.: Fruity with some apples and other fruits, some molasses, a touch of brightness, some black coffee, some dark chocolate; fairly dry with some tartness and fairly good bitterness, leaves remnants of good dark chocolate.

Not huge but pretty good.

Pours very fine tight tan head. Dark black body, Aroma of fine chocolate crossed with molasses and coffee. Coca flavors in the taste. While there is some mouth feel, it’s pretty light, which doesn’t surprise me for something that’s only 7% alcohol. Nice beer over all.

Draught @ Eskilstuna Ölkultur. Malty. Small smokeiness. Not bad, but nothing special.
