Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Bottled - GBBF2007. A black coloured stout with a lovely beige head. The aroma is very big with fruity hoppy notes. An inviting aroma with alcohol notes. The taste is roasty and oily. Hoppy and malty. Great alcohol, I am stunned this is only 6.5%. It has lots of body and is very tasty. My beer of the festival.

Bottle. Black body. Off white creamy head. Beautiful. Heavy dark chocolate aroma. Heavy flavour, complex, mostly chocolate but also coffee, burned malt and some sweetness. Long and elegant sweet coffee finish. (Kløyvika, 01.08.07)

50 cL bottle. Pours deep dark brown with a creamy but quickly disappearing brown head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavour is vaguely chocolate and strongly roasted malt. Clear coffee note lendin quite some of its bitterness to the beers nice hoppy bitterness. Malty and coffee finish. Nice stout.

Bottle 7.0%, from Kvickly Svendborg. Pour is not as black as expected, more a dark redish brown. Small fizzy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is quite roasted, but seems mild. A quite high carbonation, making the beer lively in my mouth. Flavour is roasted, chocolaty, and surprisningly mild for such a highly rated impy. But the aftertaste is stunning, incredibly long - hops, chocolate and roasted malts combine nicely. Mild and good - but not really an impy...
