Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

[Bottle, 7% version] Very dark, head is dark tan, although there is not much of it and what there is disappears quite quickly. Nice aroma. Strong coffee taste mixed with hops. Somewhat thin. Taste lingers nicely. Solid beer.

Bottle. Pours a very deep dark brown almost black colour. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, roasted coffee and liquorice. The flavour is smooth and creamy with good dark chocolate, liquorice, roasted malt and coffee and raisins. The finish is roasty and bitter. Great brew indeed!

Bottle (1 year old) at home - shared with Mette. Almost black - light brown head. Aroma: Licorice, lots of licorice, ryebread, dried fruits. Taste: Licorice again, berries, ryebread, high hoppy, grass, light fruity, burned, dry burned, light sweetness, dreid dark fruits. Light throat-burning finish !!

Clear dark brown color, short brown head. Delicious strong aroma of black chocolat, some coffee and roasted malt, some hop and laurel. Creamy body. Bit alcoholic taste (7% version?), chocolat, roasted malt, quite sweet.

Black with a brown head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice and hops. Flavour is sweet with chocolate, licorice, butterscotch and a nice bitterness. Thick palate. I like the fact, that this beer is not as strong as other impy’s, but it’s still packed with flavour and is an utter enjoyment to drink.

Pours almost black with not much of a head at all. Aroma of roastiness and chocolatey, flavor was chocolate and actually had a little sourness to it. Not bad at all but a little weak for an imp stout.

A Sim rate (Ølfestival): Solid dark with a nice brown head. Glorious aroma of coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Similar flavour with a gorgeous choc coffee finish. DAMN!
