Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

RIS lite if there was ever was one. this is quite low alch, 7%, But this is not a detractor from this beer. Great flavor, classic brwon head, warm interesting nose, and long finish. How do they compress such flavors in such a fine beer.... nice.

330 ml bottle. Pitch black colour. Nice medium-sized tall beige head, but it falls down eventually. Aroma is roasted with a distinct licorice edge. Very bitter on the tongue. Balanced with strong roasted malt flavours and a little sweetness. Though, this is a dry beer. Nicely balanced. Surprisingly high complexity for such weak imperial stout.

Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Dark brown with a red hue, opaque, with a small beige head. Roasted aroma with milk chocolate, burnt sugar, and manure. Well balanced, but very much overrated.

Tasted 2007-03-18. Bottle from 2006, 33cl. Black with disappearing brown head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and smoke. Taste of ditto. It’s a good beer, but the smoke is a little too much for me!

Bottle from Marsiblursi, thanks! Aroma of coffee and tobacco. Stoulike appearance. Medium palate is very creamy. The flavors start with lots of roasted coffee, nuts, and some light bitter chocolate in the end. Some of the tobacco comes through in the aftertaste. Really complex and interesting.

Lots of chocolate and coffee in the aroma.Pours a dark brown with some reddish hues when held to the light.Has a medium tannish head.Has a creamy chocolate flavor at first then is dominated by the bitter coffee.Thin to medium mouthfeel with a bitter coffee finish.

Bottle.Dark black body with creamy fast disapearing brownish head. Smells of dark chocolat. Tasts roasted, sweet, coffee and little salty and smokey. Gets more breadier in the middle, like a dark syrup bread with raisins and aniseroots. Palate is thick and syrupy and real crispy. Got som particles in my mouth from the first sip, really cool.

33ml provided by Maria! Woo Hoo! Head dissipates faster than a postal worker on break. Nose pungent with dark malts, milk chocolate and love....sweet love. Body and mouthfeel are surprisingly light compared with nose. I expected a BIG Imperial not being able to read the Swedish on the bottle. Very little carbonation over 20 minute consumption. dissipating legs. A mellow crisp bitterness encircles your tounge for the finish and fades gloriously into the sunset.
