Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

33cl bottle, best by May 2013 (maybe I jumped the gun on this - lol). Obtained in trade with my Secret Santa sunevdj - THANKS SUNE! Dark ruby with a thick, creamy, tan head. Roasted malt and coffee, a bit burnt, with a touch of smoke. Medium sweet flavor, coffee, chocolate. Nice bitter finish - burnt coffee, roasty malt, a distinct smokiness. Body is on the thin side, but does not detract - actually, I think it adds to the drinkablity. Well done!

Bottle from Plan B, Copenhagen. Dark and rich foir sure, but a little too sweet for me (for an Impy that is). Not the grainy, hardcore hoppy blackness that I hoped for. Still nice, but not the ultimate.

Bottle. Dark, with a lovely ruby tone. Easy drinking, but the quality is in the finish, with coffee, port, fruit and a warmth from the alcohol.

Bottle: Dark red clear colour. With a brown creamy head. Aroma of coffee, burned coffee beans, malty and have olso a slty nose in the end. Flavor is almost the same, coffee, dark chocolate.Medium to full bodyand and a medium finish. Nice Nordic IMP Stout!. Cask at Biskhopsarms Järn torget Göteborg. A moore smouth mouth feeling, than the bottle version, and has a bigger body, then it is almost the same as the bottle version.8/58/4/12=4,0

Bottle. Thanks to jsquire for sharing this one. Small tan head that mostly diminished, lackluster lacing, no visible carbonation, opaque, and a black hue. Roasty, coffee, some chocolate notes and licorice. Flavor was roasty, coffee, malty, and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Nicely done and worthy of a try IMO.

(Bottle BB 05/13) Roasted malty, licorice and coffee aroma. Black (reddish) colour and small, brownish, more or less fully diminishing head with fair lacing. Burned/roasted malty, coffee, licorice, slightly bitter and sweet flavour. Dry, creamy, softly carbonated and medium to full-bodied palate with a hint of alcohol. Good imperial stout but not as tasty as Slottskällans’ respective one! 05/11/06 (original rating was 8/4/8/4/15)
