Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Bottle. Thanks to jsquire for sharing this one. Small tan head that mostly diminished, lackluster lacing, no visible carbonation, opaque, and a black hue. Roasty, coffee, some chocolate notes and licorice. Flavor was roasty, coffee, malty, and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Nicely done and worthy of a try IMO.

(Bottle BB 05/13) Roasted malty, licorice and coffee aroma. Black (reddish) colour and small, brownish, more or less fully diminishing head with fair lacing. Burned/roasted malty, coffee, licorice, slightly bitter and sweet flavour. Dry, creamy, softly carbonated and medium to full-bodied palate with a hint of alcohol. Good imperial stout but not as tasty as Slottskällans’ respective one! 05/11/06 (original rating was 8/4/8/4/15)

RBESG 2006, bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Very nice roasty aroma, notes of bakery, coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Nice roasty flavour with rye bread and coffee notes, hints of chocolate. A very good stout.

Pours an oily black with a thick light brown head. Big delicious aroma of coffee, molasses and plain roast barley. The palate is so full and thick, with plenty of coffee, molasses sweetness, helped along by perfect light carbonation. The roast barley flavour is spot on, slightly raw, but smoothed out by the definite presence of oatmeal. Outstanding.

thanks to heemer77 for sharing this rarity at a recent tasting. great aroma of coffee with some licorice and raisins. pour was very, very dark with a nice tan head. a little different blend of flavors from what I have grown accustomed to, but this had a nice balance to it. it all came together nicely and was very enjoyable!

Heemer77 shared this at a small tasting, thanks Eric. Very dark pour with a mocha colored head. Heavily roasted malts in the nose. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Slightly bitter finish. Good stuff

The last beer I recived in a trade with oh6gdx. This was also probably my favorite. This shows how a little subtlety can best in your face huge flavors. The black body was topped with a khaki colored head. The aroma was roasted coffee with a bit of chocolate and some brandy. The taste was lots of coffee with a little bit of brandy and some dark chcolate. There was also a nice roasted character in the background. Smooth and well balanced, this is a winner.
