Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Pours black with a brownish head that recedes to a bubbly lacing. Aroma is roast malts, raisins and rye bread. Taste is rye bread, roast malts and slightly sweet. Medium bodied and quite oily.

Tap@mitm, 2010. Black. Dark roasty coffee, dry chocolate. Roasty, some salt licorice. Pretty ok. Not overpowering or sweety full. More like a robust porter than impy.

Aroma: coffee, toasted malts, chocolate, quite intense. Appearance: black, medium creamy beige head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: light sweets continue, chocolate, light bitters coming up, some coffee, average-long finish, Overall: excellent Imperial Stout, not too heavy, yet remains nicely balanced and complex. UPDATED: JAN 6, 2015 Black with thin head. Nice roast on this one, a lot of coffee and some slight chocolate. Taste is upfront a nice bitterness which evens out with the coffee and roastiness, very one trick pony forward, but still, nice, and an excellent stout for 7%.

Sunday Stout Series. 33 cl bottle. Pours dark opaque brown with small head. Coffee, chocolate and some toffee and fruit notes in aroma and taste. Well balanced in bitterness, sweetness and ABV! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! Pours dark brown, near black, thin tan head that doesn’t stick around. Aromas of tar and cola. Taste brings chocolate and light roast. Kinda sweet. Bit disappointed to be honest.

Have to say that this was a disappointment. Was supposed to be part of a nice "one-two punch" but this was more like a foreign stout than an imperial stout. At only 7% and thin mouthfeel. No chocolate and the coffee tasted more like when you use old coffee grains again for a new cup of coffee. Subtle would be a nice word.
