Commercial Description:
Nils Oscar Imperial Stout is brewed only in a limited edition. Also Nils Oscar Imperial Stout was awarded as the best beer in the world. This beer is brewed with many varieties of hops and malt, nothing saved to make the stout full of character. Imperial Stout is best enjoyed combined with the dessert but works wonderfully with oysters. The Nils Oscar Imperial Stout can be enjoyed today but preferably mature a couple of years.

Almost black with quickly disappearing light brown head. Delicious bitter chocolate aroma. Roasted flavours, bitter chocolate, good bitterness underneath. Full body. Delicious beer for a special moment, it would age well also.

Pours black with a thick brown head. Sweet smoky aroma. Flavor of chocolate, roasted malt and a touch of fruit... Thick and oily feel, leaves a nice bitter finish. Another quite fine IS from Sweden, got this one along with Slottskällans from my friend.

33cl bottle, best by May 2013 (maybe I jumped the gun on this - lol). Obtained in trade with my Secret Santa sunevdj - THANKS SUNE! Dark ruby with a thick, creamy, tan head. Roasted malt and coffee, a bit burnt, with a touch of smoke. Medium sweet flavor, coffee, chocolate. Nice bitter finish - burnt coffee, roasty malt, a distinct smokiness. Body is on the thin side, but does not detract - actually, I think it adds to the drinkablity. Well done!

Bottled. Beer is very dark brown, nearly opaque. Head is large, tan, frothy/creamy; slowly and mostly diminishing.
The aroma is malty with moderate/heavy notes of deeply roasted grain, black coffee, lighter notes of milk and cookies, chocolate; Hoppy with a moderate note of resin/pine, light floral note; Yeasty with a light/moderate note of damp basement floor; Light/moderate miscellaneous notes of plumy raisin, alcohol, trace note of smoky licorice at the open.
The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic with a long, light/moderately acidic, lightly sweet, lightly/moderately bitter finish.
The body is medium, the texture is watery/velvety and the carbonation is average.
Round and plush. Earthy and smoky. Quite nice.

Bottle. Dark, with a lovely ruby tone. Easy drinking, but the quality is in the finish, with coffee, port, fruit and a warmth from the alcohol.

Black pour. Cocoa powder followed by a long licorice finish. Excellent length. Very tasty.

11.2 oz bottle, no date. Black with a small ran head, fading to a ring. Hazelnuts, milk chocolate, sweet caramel, with some underlying roasted grains and coffee. Flavor is not near as sweet--much more roasty and ashy, especially in the finish. That’s not to say it isn’t sweet, but the roast is a much larger component here. A bit raisiny as well. Seems like there’s even some lactose in here. Low carbonation with a creamy medium body. Pretty darn good.

Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and some coffee. It is actually relatively sweet, but still very enjoyable. Coffee is more in the aroma than in the flavor for me. Good though....random guy @ Sam’s in Chicago told me to try it. Good call.
