COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
1820 började England exportera ett speciellt öl till Indien. Dett kallades för India Ale. För att klara den långa transporten var ölet kraftig humlat. Nils Oscar India Ale. är en modern tolkning av klassisk India Ale. Ölet baseras på humlesorten Amarillo, som tydligt markerar sin närvaro i ölet. Aromen har drag af tropiska frukter och citrus. Nils Oscar India Ale är överjäst på pilsner-, münchener- och karamellmalt. Passa till nästan all mat, mer är givetvis utsökt även på egen hand.

Bottle from systembolaget Årjeng, Sweden. Clear amber colour with a small white head. Hoppy nose with some caramel. Very hoppy flavour but not as much grape as expected, solid caramel background.

Aroma is not very much at all; all I can get is some light perfume and acetone. Taste however brings a lot of hops of dry brittish character, I’d expect EKG and fuggles but what do I know, it was good anyhow.

Anar citrus och lite physalis, PAPAYA samt lite brödiga toner. Behaglig väl i mun...klen kropp dock. Beskan svischar förbi. Godkänt inte mer.

A clear dark amber colour and off-white head. Mild aroma of dusty hops. Taste is fruity and mildly bitter. All elements of this brew are fine and well crafted, but it’s not an intense beer that blows your mind away, so scores stay moderate. (Bottle)

Bottle. Gotta question the age on this bottle - I don’t know how old it is, but it tastes like its far from fresh. Decent mild resin nose with some caramel malt. Palate is a little on the flat side. Taste is muted citrus and pine hops. Okay, but I’d really like to try this fresh.

Ölen ger ett lite avslaget första intryck då den inte doftar så mycket men det tar den igen i smaken som är relativt kraftig och ’oblommig’. En god öl med en god smak och trevlig, men lite kort, efterbeska.

0.33 l bottle thanks to Marko! It poured copper body with small head. Orange hop, Amarillo I guess, rounded with caramel. Flavor is bitter, pleasant, some sweet malt is felt, but strong hops don’t let it anywhere near the front. Medium body with long, dry finish that is a bit oily near the end. Quite nice IPA.
