COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nils Oscar Julöl 2007 is a dark beer with great power and complexity. It is topfermented with yeast from Belgium. We have used six kinds of malt and the hops Pacific Gem from New Zealand. The smell is roasted and soft with hints of licorice and blackcurrants. The flavor is warm and full with a complex charachter. Nils Oscar Julöl 2007 is excellent for glazed ribs, game meat, mature cheese, nuts and bitter chocolate, but can also be enjoyed on its own majesty.

Bottle at Pikkulintu. Pours black reddish with fast foamy head. Strong roasty coffee, licorice. Darakuul which means everything...

Bottle 50 cl. Pours dark red and ruby in color. Malty sweetness, some roasted notes with loads of coffee in aroma. Some dark berries here as well. Malty sweetness with a hint of marzipan sweetness too.

50cl bottle from my beer cellar, 5 years old. Clear deep burgundy pour with a thin tan head. A lovely beer worth waiting 5 years for.

500 ml bottle. BB Okt 14. Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Finland.
Reddish dark brown colour with small light tan head. Milk, caramel, toffee and some roasted malt in aroma. Coffee, roasted malt, sweet caramel and dark fruits in flavour. Thinnish.

Clear dark red-brown beer. Nice colour. A little Dr Pepper and Coca Cola on the nose! Light palate, slightly soft. Malt has a whisper of marmite but morphs seamlessly into something sweeter. Dr Pepper like generic fruits with a trace of bubblegum. Finishes smooth with creamy malt and a light smoke streak. Pretty complex flavour profile, the flavours integrating better as the beer warms up. Delicious!

Sample at ÖÖWF 2011. Malty sweet smell with burned caramel, almost wineous. Milder taste but with a roasted finish. Very nice development on this beer, the 2011 tasted very differently.

Bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a shortlasting tan head. Taste and aroma of chocolate, plum and spice, with a rather porter like tartness.

Bottle at Man in the Moon, December 2011. Vintage 2007 was tastier than vintage 2004 that I drank earlier this week. The beer was clear amber with a small, tan head. Nice aroma of toffee, roasted malt, raisin some licorice and spices. About the same in the rather sweet and vinous taste. Medium mouth feel and carbonation. Has aged really well in my opinion.

Dunkler Kaffeegeruch. Gelungen! Test vom 12.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,11,11,12,11,11 - 10,85
