Bottled 500ml. -from trade with Nisse666, thanks Thomas. Brown coloured with red glare, small off-white head, pleasant roasty nose. Light roasted malt, mild alcoholic and soft dried fruits with notes of chocolate in the finish. Quite nice brew.

Julöl 2012. Courtesy of Nisse through Ogivlado (thanks!). Poured a dark brown-red body, clear, with almost no head (what little there was was off-white). Roasty aroma, chocolate, dark malt, sweetish... Taste... light chocolate, roasty, sweetish yet balanced, very slightly smoky, bitterness more pronounced than expected. One might almost think it a stout from the profile. Lovely overall. And yeah, Ogi said it was here under "Scottish Ale" which baffled me... "Scotch Ale" makes slightly more sense. Yeah, pretty great.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear dark brown one with a small islandy and sidesticking off-white top. It has a aroma with traces of ginger bread, soft cloves, caramel and some slightly salty licorice. Non-extreme, but nice enough. It has a nice average carbonation level and a slightly oily to slick mouthfeel. The taste is not as present. There is this Ajax-detergent slightly alcoholic aftertaste that’s not directly pleasant. Chocolate, some acidic old "grey" coffee. The aftertaste is not pleasant, but still not horrible. A bit chalky also perhaps. Not to Christmassy. 26.12.2012

bottle from 2011 dark brown pour with a small off white head. aroma has some vanilla and cocoa nibs to it. taste is more towards roasted malts with hints of spice. aftertaste is lasting medicinal / astringent. should think it would last a bit better, only one year and allreadt showing signs of bad aging.

Bottle. Brown colour with a quickly vanishing brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, liquorice. Flavour is bitter, hops, a bit spices, somewhat sweet.

Malty, heavy and sweet with very low bitterness. Works great with most dishes at the Christmas table.

Bottle: Black colour, big creamy head. Aroma is dominated of caramelly, coffee, dark choclate. Flavor had a smouth mouth feeling of caramelly, brown sugar, dark choclate, fruits, rasins, and a medium body, medium fruity finish. Nice!

Nils Oscar tar av sig hatten, drar på sig tomteluvan och den sitter som en smäck - den också. Ännu ett bevis på att ale gör sig bäst som julöl och inte tramsig mörk lager. Drick och lär.

Almost like ’julmust’ crossed with beer with small amount of hops. Sweet. Will perhaps have again.

Draught at ÖÖWF 2012. Nose: burnt popcorn, roasted corn. Taste: burnt, balanced yet discreet.
