COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A dark brown ale deriving maltiness from two types of American crystal malts, yet not overly heavy in body. Rounded with a nutty flavor from chocolate malt and a hint of black patent malt. Finished with aromatics from Czech Saaz hops.

Sampled at the brewpub. Opaque brown with a nice layer of foam. I smell nuts and get a whiff of chocolate. The first sip is nutty but slowly chocolate cake and saaz filters in. That repeats itself with each sip. The feel is a bit thin. This is a nice rendition of a brown. Tasty.

Part of the sampler platter at the Sheraton in Phoenix. Best of the three that was sampled. Would liek to try this again

12oz bottle pours clear mahogany with copper – amber hues and lasting tan head. The aroma offers up ample amounts of toffee, roasted malts and earthiness mixing together very nicely. The taste begins with a brief straight up maltiness and is quickly joined by sweet toffee candy, some roasted malts, a pleasing dank earthiny maltiness and just a kiss of sweet dark fruity esters. Wow! This is scratching me right where I itch. Hits the spot for sure. Nice!

Dark brown but clear pour, good head, though it dissipated quickly. Nice bready and malty aroma. Smooth toasted malty flavor lingers on the tongue. There is a bit of complexity, but not a ton of it. My current favorite everyday drinking beer.

Draft at Nimbus. Pours clear brown/red, thin pale tan head, great lacing. Nose is sweet roast coffee, some berries & clean cardboard. Flavours of dark fruit, cocoa/roast, clean corrugated cardboard. Decent.

Man, this is solid good beer. Totally on the mark for style and session to boot. Poured with a nice sized foamy, frothy, cream colored head that lasts quite a while and lots of lace. Color is a clear, dark walnut. Aroma is nut oil, malt, cocoa, and a little bittersweet. Flavor is exactly the same only jacked up. Body and carbonation are excellent and perfect for the style. Session beer for sure.

I think I got a bad bottle of this. It poured nothing but foam that eventually subsided to a rocky tan head. Dark beer with a puffed wheat and dusty chocolate nose. Sour tangy taste of over ripe berries, faint chocolate and some faint roasted grains. The sour just seems off, or I may just be sensative to it.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Brown, white head. Aroma of caramel and walnuts. Taste is nutty and not too sweet, nice bitterness with good balance.

Bottle; another good brown ale. Mellow, but fairly complex for the style. Caramel, cocoa, bread and earth. Really liking brown ales these days.
