A dark brown ale deriving maltiness from two types of American crystal malts, yet not overly heavy in body. Rounded with a nutty flavor from chocolate malt and a hint of black patent malt. Finished with aromatics from Czech Saaz hops.

Draft at Nimbus. Pours clear brown/red, thin pale tan head, great lacing. Nose is sweet roast coffee, some berries & clean cardboard. Flavours of dark fruit, cocoa/roast, clean corrugated cardboard. Decent.

Man, this is solid good beer. Totally on the mark for style and session to boot. Poured with a nice sized foamy, frothy, cream colored head that lasts quite a while and lots of lace. Color is a clear, dark walnut. Aroma is nut oil, malt, cocoa, and a little bittersweet. Flavor is exactly the same only jacked up. Body and carbonation are excellent and perfect for the style. Session beer for sure.

I think I got a bad bottle of this. It poured nothing but foam that eventually subsided to a rocky tan head. Dark beer with a puffed wheat and dusty chocolate nose. Sour tangy taste of over ripe berries, faint chocolate and some faint roasted grains. The sour just seems off, or I may just be sensative to it.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Brown, white head. Aroma of caramel and walnuts. Taste is nutty and not too sweet, nice bitterness with good balance.

Bottle; another good brown ale. Mellow, but fairly complex for the style. Caramel, cocoa, bread and earth. Really liking brown ales these days.

Very dark brown pour with a nice creamy tan head. Roasted pecans and walnuts, hints of chocolate and maybe a bit of coffee grounds. Flavor is sweet and has some very nice roasted nut qualities. Some coffee, roasted malt and a very light hop bite at the end. Not half bad. Very good for a tough style.

Dark brown, thick creamy tan head, foamy lacing. Coffee and chocolate aromas. Well balanced between malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness with a slight tilt toward the malt, as a good brown ale should be. Creamy and smooth.

(bottle, sampled 2/18/10). Dark brown color, with amber hue. Medium tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor of the same, with light roastiness and light coffee. Long duration. Light bitter finish. Slick texture. Soft to moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.

12 oz bottle in trade with jbye4334. Pours a muddy brown color with a 1/2" tan head. Aroma is milk chocolate, nuts and peat. Moderate body with average carbonation. Flavor was an odd mix of chocolate, coffee, nuts and earth. like its appearance, kind of muddy. Still, not bad.
