COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Old Monkeyshine Ale is an exceptional example of a true, traditional-style English Pub beer. Nimbus Old Monkeyshine Ale is medium bodied and possesses a distinct, dark roasted flavor. Its sweet malty taste is derived from liberal use of seven varieties of specialty malts and a touch of brown sugar. Our Old Monkeyshine Ale is dark in color, beginning with a slight caramel malt overtone and rounded with a relatively dry finish from its English Kent Goldings hops. The hops aroma is mildly subdued and the bitterness is just enough to balance the profile of this beer. Nimbus Old Monkeyshine Ale is a true premium ale and is priced accordingly. We're so proud of this beer for its body, taste, alcohol content and drinking enjoyment, it may just become our signature beer. Be warned: its wonderful malty sweetness camouflages the 8.0% alcohol by volume content. It's a winner!

Pours an opaque chestnut with a thin tan head...light sediment. Aroma is malty...molasses and some fig...a bit of an alcohol/nail polish note but faint. Flavor is roasty and has a bit of chocolate and dark fruit...better than the aroma suggests. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is roasty/malty and a bit of chocolate.

Dark amber/brown color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, & fruit; Flavor of slight roasted sweet malt, caramel/toffee, hops, some dark fruit, and spice; Finish is slightly bitter; Not too bad overall.

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Bottle from James I think (Holy) - Cheers Mate! Hazy amber beer. Tidy pale tan head. Light crispy palate. Nice toffee - raisan malt. Tiny bit of hop. Quite olde worlde. Decent enough.

12 oz bottle, can’t remember who sent me this. Amber pour w/almost no head. Malt aroma. Sweet malt flavor w/touches of roasted nuts, some toffee, some caramel. Just a touch of hop bite on the finish. Smooth & easy to drink, alcohol is well hidden. Very true to style. Solid English Ale

On tap at Nimbus in south Tucson. It’s a very dark brown color with medium carbonation. The smell is caramel malts, roasted malts, and mild hops. The tastes is a little sweet, some caramel flavor, brown sugar, and a little bitterness from the hops. It’s like a light version of a barley wine. Overall pretty good.

Deep brown/red pour with creamy tan head and lace. Toasted malt, abv, and cough syrup. Abv, toasted malt, and a nice sweetness. Medium bodied but a bit fizzy.

A great, flavorful and strong beer (8%). Its a great mix of fruit and caramel and is surprising every time I take a sip. A great find for any true connoisseur.
