A traditional stout using dark roasted malted barley to create a full-bodied ale. Rounded with the smooth flavor of oats, the addition of English Kent Goldings hops produces a creamy stout that has proven to be a favorite.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured dark brown color with medium to large brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Medium to heavy toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet malt flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, classic chocolate malt with light creamy notes, powdery and smooth. In mouth, a nice smooth smooth chocolate malt with light peated notes, grassy hops, smooth and quaffable. On tap at brewery.

Bottle poured a nearly opaque black with a small lasting tight brown head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt, bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, black malt and a hint of licorice with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

The Fonefan/Brugmansia Cnudde tasting. Courtesy of Papsoe. Black/brown with a small head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and citrussy hops. The flavour has notes of coffee, licorice and the finish is bitter and dry. I miss a bit of sweetness, the smooth and the round body, that I expect in an oat, the hops are a bit too dominating IMO. OK, sure, but just not one I’ll drink again.

Bottle... Pours pitch black with a tiny, creamy, beige head. No retention. Lots of milk chocolate in the nose with some dark cherries and caramel. The flavor is medium bitter with lots of burnt notes and no residual sweetness, even when warm. Just a hint of acidity. Light to medium-bodied with soft carbonation. Lengthy, burnt, moderately bitter finish. FlacoAlto provided the bottle!

Dark brown pour, light creamy colored head. Aroma is a bit metallic...infected? Behind that I get some molasses, coffee and a little chocolate. Metallic flavor a bit of sourmash. Coffee, roasty. Dry. Nah.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of Sparky27. Thanks! And finally I have an Arizona rating that’s not Cave Creek Chili Beer. Woot! Pours a very, very dark brown color. Thin head with good head retention and fair lacing. Very nutty roasted malt aroma with caramel and oats. Taste is nuts, caramel, chocolate, smoke. Medium bodied.
