A bit of a creamy texture. Finishes a touch bittersweet. Solid offering but nothing earth shattering.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 superspak (1480) - Michigan, USA - MAY 12, 2013
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 11/2012. Pours clear nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, cocoa, caramel, light coffee, floral, mint, and herbal earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with solid balance and complexity of roasted notes with a prominent amount of hops. Taste of dark chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, toast, caramel, light coffee, floral, mint, and herbal earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, oatmeal, caramel, light coffee, and earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of roasted malt flavors with light-moderate hop presence; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and fairly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with almost zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice oatmeal stout. Well balance with nice flavor robustness and complexity; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Dark brown with a strong off-white head. Subtle aromas of chocolate and oatmeal and sweet malt. Taste is consistent with the aroma, only more definite. Sweet aftertaste is pleasant, not overpowering. Medium body, somewhat watery mouthfeel, creamy texture and a sweetness from the oats in the finish.

12oz bottle. Good appearance, lacing, small tan head, black color per the standard. Aroma is good, nothing that special or different. Really roasty-toasty flavor, dark chocolate especially. Body is thinner than some, but not bad. Tastes stronger than it is, as well. Worth a try.

2.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mattyb83 (733) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 28, 2012
It’s that time of year when I really enjoy a good stout, so this is something that I’m looking forward to trying. Poured from a bottle into a tulip. Brown in color with a small khaki head. A bit lighter in color than I prefer for my stouts. Very fruity aroma with notes of raisins and dark cherries, and a solid roasted coffee scent, with a little bit of dark chocolate. So far the nose on this is great. Taste is pretty damn thin. Light chocolate, thin coffee, and a strange finish that has a beef jerky quality. Metallic in the finish as well. I’m really put off by how this tastes.
