Commercial Description:
Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

Pours a cloudy copper color with a small head and minimal lacing. Slightly malty flavor with a very thin mouthfeel. Flavor has little complexity...Kind of like one of my homebrew attempts. About the only positive thing I can say is that when it’s in a cold glass, it soothes the burn I got on my palm while cooking dinner...Ahhhhhh..

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel and lots of citrus and peach notes from the hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, peaches, and oranges, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

12 oz bottle from Sparky27. Pour is a hazed orangish ruby. One inch off white head falls pretty quickly, with some lacing. Aroma of resin, grain, spicy black pepper bitterness and a mineral earthiness. Interesting nose. Taste is resin toasted malt grain with strong resin hoppiness on top of that. The mineral earthiness is present, mostly in the dirty finish. As this warmed, a weird sour spicy vegetable character came out that detracted. Palate is unfiltered, thinnish to watery. Normal carbonation, nice drinkable beer. Thanks Eric.

Caramel on the nose and the majority of the flavor. Some hop spiciness in the background, but not as big as I like. Sweet and a bit thin. Sessionable for sure.

12oz bottle, notched on June from Sparky27--thanks Eric. Overcarbonated as hell, a slow foam over out of the bottle. Clear effervescent golden with a three finger rocky off-white head, great retention--it should be noted I only poured 2/3 of the bottle. Fresh piny hops--not resiny--and some caramel hops are dominant. There is also a hint of tang--infection? Infection--flavor is quite a bit tangier and I echo daknole’s burnt plastic/candle note. Semi-dry with bitterness around a 3. Light body with high carbonation. Not so good--the aroma was alright though.

A bonus from turdferguson. Thanks!! Pours a copper color. Small whtie head. Aroma is malty, with some hops, caramel and some odd burned plastic in the smell. Flavor is bitter and has a weird metal/plastic flavor. Very very odd. And not all too pleasing.

12 oz bottle courtesy cbkshubert. Pours hazy brass with sticky off white head. The aroma is very herbal and kind of reminds me of hot tea, and there is a woody toasted malt tone behind the herbs. The flavor is toast, tea, and water. Pretty weak stuff. It dries a little in the finish into a pleasant earthy hoppiness, but it is too little too late.
