Commercial Description:
Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

Bottle. Pours a murky gold with lots of floaters and a 2 finger fluffy white head with chunky lacing. Nose is earthy hops and malt. Taste is malt and grass with a sweet and sour astringent finish. Lighter mouth feel. Not that great.

Draft at the brewery. This started out pretty decent with some roasty malted aromas along with citrusy hops. Flavor went quickly downhill as it was all bitter, somewhat watery, and really a touch of metallic. Not a big fan.

Clear amber with medium off white head. Mild hoppy aroma with caramel and citric notes. Hoppy flavor with grapefruit and caramel. Ends bitter.

Bottle picked up in Tucson. Light orange red color with a thin head. Faint aroma of watery hops, light malts, and faint sour roast. Flavor is bland, somewhat watery, but what is there is a medium bodied malt base with a lightly hopped reddish ale finish. Boring, and not very flavorful whatsoever.

Bottle 355ml.
Unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (130608)

Bottle. Cloudy amber coloured with a small white head. Fruity aroma of malts, caramel, hops and grass. Fruity flavour of malts, hops and pine needles. Dry hoppy finish.

Silty copper with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel, some fruity twang and citrus hop notes. Moderate sweet malt character with an off-putting twang. Hop flavors and bitterness are well done. The twang throws me, my palate is not happy through the remaining experience.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Slightly hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Some aroma hops in the nose together with overripe fruit and a light acidity. Light in body with notes of caramel and fruit and a distinct bitter finish, which comes a little surprising. 130608
