Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

Pours a translucent reddish-brown with no head. Light nose of malt and sweetness. Taste is malt, some sweetness - it is very, very simple, but crisp and enjoyable. Easy to drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at brewpub. Clear dark amber, thin off-white head. Caramel. Some spice/rye? Earth. Light fruity. Mild to moderate bitter. Semi dry. Nicely balanced malty sweetness.

I really enjoy the skunky taste of this beer. Good mix of malts and hops. One of my favorite nimbus beers.

Recently purchased 12 oz bottle. Like other beers from this lousy brewery, this one gushed out of the pint glass with just a small pour. The aroma is bad and the flavor worse. Incompetently crafted and highly likely to be infected. I have had had 4-5 other beers from the brewery, from multiple sources on different occasions, all of which were bad. Moreover, both of the other two people I know who have had a Nimbus have had similar poor experiences, also ending with a drain pour. I can now put this on my small list of never again breweries and urge anyone reading this to do the same. O: AVOID!

10/5/14. 12oz bottle from Exit 18. Hazy amber red pour with a small khaki head that sticks and laces okay. A bit of cardboard and nuttiness on the aroma, sweet toffee. More in the flavor, nutty, a bit of green grass, chocolate, and sweet toffee. Not as bad as I was expecting.

Twelve ounce bottle from Beer Of The (Every Other) Month Club, tasted on October 26, 2013. Dark amber color, surprisingly firm bittersweet nose with strong malty backbone, interesting bittersweet flavor that’s like a cross between a bitter and an amber ale.

Bottle from BevMo, Phoenix. Sweet caramel malt aroma with a hint of hops. Pours caramel-amber colored with a thin, white head and no lacing. Sweet and malty to start with a lot of caramel. Finishes dry and fairly smooth with only a slight hoppy bite that lingers on the palate. Nice and refreshing take on a red. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: clear coppery orange with an average, light tan head. Aroma: light aroma of caramel, toasted brown bread, with some marmalade/apricot fruity notes. Taste: as the aroma indicates, with slightly sweet caramel malts dominant over stone fruits and slightly earthy hops. Finish: smooth, light, and a tad slick/soft. Notes: Almost completely forgettable.

A light copper ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with light fruity notes, treacle, faint hops, OK. In mouth, a sweet nutty caramel malt with faint hops, so-so. On tap at brewery.

Pint at brewery 11/13/13-Pours deep amber with a nice tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and is a nice tasting amber.
