COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nimbus Red Ale is a rich, medium-bodied American-style amber ale. Known for its sophisticated mouth feel and exceptional drinkability, our Red Ale is a true classic. Copper-hued and well-balanced, Nimbus Red Ale has a lightly sweet taste enhanced with the flavor of four different malt varieties and flaked barley. We brew this beer with handpicked Chinook and Cascade hops. This combination gives our Red a mild malt sweetness and a relatively dry, aromatic finish. Never bitter, Nimbus Red is sure to please the beer lover who enjoys lighter flavors and a lower alcohol content. It's crisp, refreshing taste has made our Red a fixture at major sporting events throughout Southern Arizona.

12 oz. bottle, courtesy of DarkElf - thanks Stephen! Pours a slightly hazed medium amber color with a small off-white head that diminishes quickly. Predominantly floral hoppy aroma, with fruity and light caramel notes and lemon peel. Flavor is again hoppy upfront, with bright citrus and floral varieties, toasty, burnt caramel, dandelion milk, bitter fresh herbs, dusty pine notes and grapefruit zest in the finish, somewhat unbalanced and out of character. Medium body and crispy carbonation. Interesting brew, seems more of a well hopped APA, but the malts are forward in addition to the brash hops. Drinkable and notable, but not that good.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2013 2 Jan 2013, bottle. faded orange color, faintly fazzy, some sediment, steady bubbles. nose is faint peaches, slightly bitter grassy hops. thin body and moderately fizzy. has a bitter lemon rind flavor up front that dominates everything. but it’s not very nice. rather abrasive. some sweet malt and peach flavors but everything is overshadowed but the odd bitterness.

12oz bottle pours clear deep copper with a nice yet thin contrasting almost bright white ring of foam. The aroma is a little nutty, a little sweet and a little roasty. The taste hits with a mix of roasted malts, nuttiness and sweet crystal maltiness. To midway and into the finish it picks up some malt earthiness and a faint yet vague hoppiness. Decent enough.

12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out an reddish-tan, lightly hazed body with a smallish, brief, whitish head.

Smell: Toasty malts with a touch of biscuit present and sweetish caramel-scented notes with fruity hints of fresh citrus and apple butter.

Taste: A pleasant toasty maltiness with a soft caramel sweetness well-incorporated within. Modest esters. Zesty but not overly robust orange, grapefruit citrus character. Faint spiciness. Moderately bitter. Remains malty with a rebound of sweetness holding until the relatively crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: I dug it. A tasty, malt-forward red ale.

bottle from BevMo Tucson. Pours ruby brown with an inch of khaki foam. Not much on the nose. notes of caramel malt on the tongue. taste lingers a while. A solid interpretation of a boring style.

Pours a pretty clear copper with a fairly thick pale golden-tan head. Malty aroma has hints of grass and cloves. Flavor has a malty core with grassy, clove and hoppy undertones, a little bitterness. Texture has smooth, average body but a good amount of tingle and fizz. Don’t monkey around, give it a try.

bottle. clear orange with a small head. light fruity nose. light sweetness with toasted malt flavors and fruity hops. balanced. dry finish. not the most flavorful amber, but it’s good, balanced, easily quaffable and probably quite refreshing in the arizona heat.

Draft. Poured a dark reddish copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing. Good malt and earthy hoppy aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate well balanced smooth flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good brew.

Like a heavily toasted ipa or American pale. Very nice hop presence when fresh. Good stuff.
