COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Infidel Imperial India Pale Ale is brewed with generous portions of malt and sinful amounts of hops. You have in your hand the anti-Christ of the macro-beer. If you are a disciple of the watery yellow fizzy stuff, put this fine craft brew down and step away. You are not suitably prepared for the Infidel experience. If you think you are ready, enjoy it with spicy foods such as Curry, Creole, Cajun, or hot chili. Infidel also goes great with meats (especially spiced-up or blackened) and burgers. You can also enjoy it by itself, but be vigilant; because in the morning when you say, "The devil made me do it!" he’ll be long gone, and you’ll be the one on the hook.

Light copper color with a moderate off-white head. Aromas of earthy hops, with caramel and mild spice. A hint of vegetables distracts slightly. Light sour dough bread with mild citric flavors. Somewhat thin in feel. Seems to lack much depth.

Hazy peachy orange body, thin off-white head. Aroma with rindy, cintrusy, bitter hops, toasty malts, and noticeable alcohol. Thick hops tea body- pine and citrus especially, backed by light bready malts and an interesting bubblegum characteristic. Bitter finish. Alcohol nicely masked. Doesn’t challenge the big boys but not a bad effort.

Bottle. Poured an off-white medium sized fizzy head that was mostly lasting, sparse lacing, some floaties, slightly hazy, fizzy carbonation, and an orange hue. Nose was malty, hoppy and some whiffs of alcohol. Flavor was lightly bitter, citrus hops, malt, and vinuous but not overly done. Tingly mouthfeel and medium body.

12oz - Aroma is snappy pine citrus hops with a nice malt back and touch of sweet spiciness. Pours cloudy dark yellow with nice fluffy medium head and great sticky lacing. Flavor is weaker version of aroma. I expect more from IIPA, especially one with the devil on the label. Palate is tart and smooth. Quite tasty, but not hoppy enough to be great.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2006 Hoppy, but mostly bitter, and a solid body. You can taste alcohol at all levels, but off-setting sweetness. Bright amber color. This is the first brew I have ever tried from this brewer. I wish them well.

2 bottles shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc, mds & tupalev -- courtesy of the Michigan RB crew. Pours a clear ruby-orange with an average size lasting white head. Aroma of lots of hops and booze along with caramel malt and some sugary sweetness. Flavour starts off with lots of booze followed by hops (citrus and pine), caramel malt, some sweetness and long bitter finish. Medium bodied. It’s decent but it’s a little too boozy and unbalanced.

bottle. Pours a bronze body with a minimal white head. The aroma is of mild grapefruit, sour grapes, and a faint, dry vinous scent. The body is somewhat caramelly with awkward grapefruit, buttery biscuits, and an almost salty sourness in the finish. Some bark or cedar is noted in the middle and the finish becomes fairly chalky. This is bold and robust, yes. The hoppiness is of a recognizable level. However, this does not come together in the way I would like an IIPA to.

Aroma is malt, copper, pours a big custard head, very pretty lace. Flavour is full malt, old ale qualities. full bodied, malty, with some bitterness. Really nice beer, just doesn’t seem like an IPA, let alone an Imperial? Thanks mds.

Bottle shared with the regular crew and MDS, courtesy of the fine USA ratbeerians from the Michigan fest. Fiery dark orange, foamy white head. Nice alcohol, malt, hops aroma. Strong taste - lots of booze, nice tasty bready malt. Sharp alcohol really stands out here - a little too strong for me, but a tasty treat nonetheless, thanks Michigan guys!
