Brewed and dedicated to the believers of Ninkasi. Rich dark malt complexity is balanced by a plentiful hop presence bringing together perfection in every sip. Who knew believing had so many rewards.

Strong almost caramel aroma with a very rich caramel, malt flavor with a hint of hops. Strong and great with a beef stroganoff. If strong rich beers are your thing, then you’ll love this double red ale. Well worth trying!

Pours a dark copper with brown foamy head. Caramel/nutty aromas with very faint hop smell. Dry on the palate with more apparent hop bitterness balanced well with the caramel and nutty malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At Savor NYC 2013. The aroma is caramel, nutty, chocolate. Some citrus hops. The flavor is almost identical, decent amount of hops, but mainly malt forward. Medium/thick in body. Pine, citrus on finish. Nicely done.

Bottle consumed in a tasting glass. May 21, 2013. Aroma: Strong amber/dark malt lends a caramel body, ripe red fruits/dried fruit. Citrusy+floral hop notes. Slightly musty. Appearance: 18ish SRM-Dark red/Amber, tan head with a good moussey appearance. Dark orange/light amber highlights. Taste: Caramel and toffee dominate the attack which quickly transforms into red fruit and tropical hop flavors. A solid bitter backbone balances the malt. Ends somewhat toasty. Mouthfeel: Medium to medium-heavy body, medium-low carbonation. Overall: Good beer. Nose is more impressive than taste but the beer is balanced. Kind of ends up being a situational beer because of it’s darker body but higher hop presence.

22oz bottle to shaker. Pours beautiful dark amber color with tan head. Smells floral and piny with nice hint of hops. Nice full body taste with a hint of hops as well. Very crisp, tastes like what you expect from an amber beer but with a twist of signature Ninkasi hops. Finishes nicely with just the right amount of carbonation. Great beer

22 oz. bottle obtained via Lets Pour.com. Didn’t know what to expect although I’d heard good things about Ninkasi products. Very glad I made the purchase. A solid red ale with a medium to slightly heavy body. Malty flavor but definite touches of hop bitterness. Good carbonation and no unpleasant aftertaste. If it’s ever sold in New England, I’ll be a customer.

Picked this up by accident, I was trying to grab Ninkasi’s I.P.A. Glad I pick it up though! Beautiful dark red pour. Aroma is sweet. Very flavorful, lots of malts and berries with some chocolate and toffee notes. Worth a try for sure!

Malty aroma. super malty. Dark brown body with a tan head. Chocolaty malty taste with nutty and grassy aftertaste. This would go good with a salad and peppered steak. I’m a believer.(I know, i know) Gonna have this more often.

Poured from bomber into my favorite glass...New Belgium’s globe glass. Darker red with medium beige head. Roasty, sweet, doughy nose. Taste was as expected, malty and somewhat balanced. A bit oily with bitter finish. Very nice strong ale.

Lagerboy (705) - British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 25, 2013
Clear deep red copper, foaming tan head disapears instantly. Sweet rich dark roasted caramel malt aroma and taste, dark fruit, piney citrus hops, some grapefruit. Softly carbed, medium-full bodied, medium hopped. Strong for only 6.9 ABV, but softens as it warms. Burnt bitter dry finish. DNFL (Definately Not For Lagerboys)
