Brewed and dedicated to the believers of Ninkasi. Rich dark malt complexity is balanced by a plentiful hop presence bringing together perfection in every sip. Who knew believing had so many rewards.

22 oz. bomber, poured a rich, clear copper orange-ish red with a medium tan head with a nice fade. Very drinkable with a good balance of caramel, hops and malt flavor.

$7 pint @ Blind Tiger NY Very friendly party pleaser style albeit miles away from being dumb. Nice sweetness right through the palate and fresh new world hops. Easy to like (a lot).

2014-12-04. Brown body wit a small beige head. 3+ Aroma is relatively alcoholic, with some green hops. Flavour is moderately bitter, malty core, muted citrus below green hop character. Quite bitter in the finish. Average bodied palate, light carbonation. Okay, more malty than I’d prefer. The hops aren’t really allowed to shine. Bottle shared by Blankboy.

Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14. Clear reddish amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is earthy hop, mineral notes, pine, candied fruits. Taste comprises bitter orange, candied fruit peel, sweet notes, earthy hop. Medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness. Ok stuff.

A good, well malted brew with loads of caramel and toffee atop light and fruity NW hops. The pour is a bright amber gold with a foamy finger of beige head. The nose has a nice heavy malt with a toasted caramel note and a fruity hop accent. A bit full bodied and sweet with caramel and light nutty notes. The finish is fruity and a mild astringent with a lingering hop profile and a moderate bitterness. Overall, a good brew but not a great example of the style.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a super deep mahogany color bordering almost on brown with a one finger head of thick off-white foam. The head sits there with tons of retention, fading over ~ a 10 min time frame to eventually leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is heaviest of a toasted malt smell with a large showing of caramel and brown sugar. Along with these aromas comes some lighter dark fruit smells of cheery and plum as well as a little bit of a more grainy smell. Some hop aromas are present in the nose as well with bot a citrus and earthy aroma being mixed with the rest. Taste – The taste begins with a rather heavily roasted malt and relatively caramel and fruity (cherry and plum) flavor. There are some lighter hop flavors present at the start with both a grapefruit and earthy flavor being on the tongue. Some more grainy and more fruity flavors join the tongue at the middle, overall sweetening the taste a bit. In the end the bitterness really steps it up, brining on much more dank earthy and piney flavors to the tongue, and while I would normally like that, they don’t seem to meld with the other flavors in this one, creating a somewhat unbalanced and slightly off flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The thicker body and lower carbonation seem to up the off dank flavors at the end, and in conjunction with the rest of the flavors, accentuates the mix of rather odd flavors a bit too much. Overall – Nothing too spectacular here in my opinion. The flavor profile was a bit off with no real melding and complementation. Some may like, but I will likely pass.

Bottle, part of Beer Club at Mr. Goodbar in Buffalo, NY. Nice looking deep mahogany red pour. Smooth and complex.....a little bit of sweetness from the malt but still a nice hop bite as well. Powerful beer, and really well done. I love a nice big red.

22 oz bottle from Fred Meyer in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma is malty, nutty, and a bit citrusy, with hints of toffee, biscuit, and hazelnuts. Mouthfeel and taste begins creamy and sweet, and finishes with a long sweet, bitter, and slightly astringent aftertaste. This beer is much more complex than I remember it being. Pretty great!
