Pineapple, mango, and papaya in a red ipa..whoa, that’s creative! Aroma is slightly fruity, but I wouldn’t be able to pull out those aromas. Clear red/amber color. Sips nice and lively with nice hop presence. Body is medium to full and the middle and finish bring the malt to compliment the sweetness and hops. Slight watery body in the finish is my only complaint. Dry and sweet balance in the finish as well. Nice double ipa.

Draught @ Albion. Slightly hazy reddish amber with small foamy beige head, faint citrus aroma, low carbonation, lightly bitter, sweetish blood orange taste, thin body, longish bitter finish. Very tasteful, citrusy IPA.

Poured from bomber into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a golden orange color with a one finger head of white foam. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a fantastic level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The smell is big and potent. It is strongest of a sweeter caramel smell mixed with other sweet aromas of tropical fruits (tangerine, mango, and pineapple). Along with these aromas comes some bready and doughy smells as well as some lighter notes of a citrus hop and a little bit of grass. Overall, the aroma is invitingly sweet and alluring. Taste- The taste begins with a strong caramel sweetness with a rich lightly toasted doughy taste. These flavors remain very strong throughout and are joined by some lighter notes of a tropical fruit sweetness as the taste moves forward. All the while a little bit more roast comes to the tongue as well as some light pine and earthy hop tastes. In the end a sweet and lightly hopped malty taste is left to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is rather low. For the sweet and rich malty tastes of the brew the feel is quite nice, creating a thick medium for the rich flavors to bath the tongue. Overall – Not really strong on the hop at all like I was expecting, but overall a rather nice, sorta sweeter brew. It definitely has its place and is certainly worth at least a try.

Draft in Edmonds, WA. Foamy copper red. Juicy anonymous red fruit, astringent earthy hops. Alright body, juicy fruit and harsher bitter aftertaste.

1 pint, 6 oz (no ml measurement!) bottle poured at home. Pours a cloudy orange color with a small white head. Smells like citrus fruit and flowery hops. Tastes bitter; I can’t place any other flavors. Good beer. Not what I was expecting when I saw red ale but I was pleasantly surprised.
