COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An IRA bursting with notes of mango, papaya and pineapple, this beer finishes juicy with a subtle malty backbone. It doesn’t take brains to know hoppy, tropical IRAs are a great way to welcome warmer months ahead!

Pineapple, mango, and papaya in a red ipa..whoa, that’s creative! Aroma is slightly fruity, but I wouldn’t be able to pull out those aromas. Clear red/amber color. Sips nice and lively with nice hop presence. Body is medium to full and the middle and finish bring the malt to compliment the sweetness and hops. Slight watery body in the finish is my only complaint. Dry and sweet balance in the finish as well. Nice double ipa.

From a bottle. Pours a light golden-red and makes an off-white head with great lacing down the glass. Smells of malt and citrus and hops. Tastes of citrus and hops, but more like an IPA with some malt than a true red. Good beer though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer was little overrated for Ninkasi. Did Anheiser Busch ruin the quality of the brewery? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a lightly hazy orangish copper with a small white ring. Great aroma of tropical fruits, papaya, mango, passionfruit, can and light burnt sugar. Taste is tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit, papaya, caramel with a burnt character on the finish that lasts into the finish... This would be a great red ipa if you could get rid of that light harshness.

skunky, resin aroma, wood smoke & caramel, clashy mix. clash more of an issue with the flavor--resin, smoke, grapefruit rind, caramel. hoppier than expected, milder in the malt aspects.

Draft at sb. Pours a murky dark amber with a loose and creamy white head. Bright orange juice nose, nice clear presence. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty caramel with bright oranges on the mid palate. Long creamy sweet finish.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (resin, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Red ale? Huh? This is pretty pale amber to be slingin’ out that phrase, IMHO. Very quiet nose doesn’t show much of anything, and it’s equally dull in the mouth. Ninkasi continues to struggle.

On tap taster at John B Pub in Coquitlam. The head is white and the colour is very pale for a red IPA. Could’ve mistaken it for a Coors Lite by the colour! LOL.

Other than that pithy observation, it seems to be a sprightly and refreshing IPA.

IPA with a nice up front malt presence. Malt leads the aroma as well. Nice amber pour with persistent creamy off white head. Caramel malts with a nice piny, resinous hop finish.

Love the Romero inspired name/label. Pours a light amber with golden hues peeking through. The head is spotty off white with tons of lacing. The aroma is laced with glorious tropical fruits, citrus, light pine resins and caramel malts. Biscuits, toffee, caramel malts up front. The hops aren’t forceful but have a heavy citrus presence. Tropical pineapple and mango notes. Light pine resin, heavy bitterness. A good well balanced brew overall.

Pours coppery amber, foamy white head, some lacing. Aroma is hints of mango, grapefruit, spruce. Tastes of citrus, resinous notes. Full bodied, soft carbonation, short finish, but not abrupt. Very nice balance between bitterness and flavor of hops.
