Brewed specifically for the Whiteaker Block Party 2013, Ice Nine is a light and flavorful golden ale. Made with Northwest Pale Ale and Honey malts, this beer finishes crisply. And like its inspiration -- a fictional super-cooling polymorph dreamed up by Kurt Vonnegut -- it is sure to add a little ice to a hot summer day. Ice Nine -- serve cold and morph with it!

I had this beer a long time ago. That was before I knew how to "add a beer" on this website, so I forgot all about it. I remember it mostly for the interesting name which I don’t know the meaning behind.

On tap @GarricksHeadPub. Hazy yellow with white head and lacing. Bready malt aroma with barest hint of grassy hops. Taste is very mildly sweet. High on drinkability, low on character.

Draft at sb. Pours a slightly hazy medium amber with a loose white head and plenty of sheeting lace. Sweaty, nitrogenous nose. Creamy medium body with flabby carb. Sweaty laundry mid palate. Musty finish.

Tap@Taphouse Grill Bellevue. Clear golden color with lasting off white head. Mild grainy pale malt aromas. Smooth light body. Dry grainy pale malt flavors with some faint earthy hops--decent.

Had a pint on tap at The Viking in Spokane. Light hazy gold, thick beige head. Aroma of toffee, fruit, light roastiness. Taste is lightly bitter with some toasty malt, thick toffee sweetness. Pretty good for the style.
