3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Okay looking misty dark golden body with frothy grey head. Interesting aroma of fermenting fruit, wort, spruce and light earthy malts. Tasty yet not too expressive fruity bitterness. Simple and short hops, but very drinkable. Like the style of this brew, even though it isn’t very deep or complex. Moderate ABV is appreciated, as is the moderate carbonation. Can’t really fault this to be honest; maybe it’s not the hop forward brew than people hoped for. Nice label/bottle style too. I like it! (75cl bottle from Au Nom De La Bière)

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle from Cave au Bulles. Hazy amber beer with a massive (severely overcarbonated) head that takes forever to dissipate. The aroma is quite hoppy though with loads of spicy Saaz-type noble hops over a softly sweet toasted malt base. Flavour is unusual in that is tastes much less hoppy than it smells. Soft sweet crystal malts with a touch of toastiness as well. Light aromatic hoppiness. Lightly minty flavour with some sweet toasted malt character. The perfumy hops integrate well with the softly yeasty/bready malt base. I wasn’t expecting much after the initial carbonation issues, but the beer is actually quite delicious. Sort of in the Belgian IPA vein.

Bottle from the brewpub, drunk at ChrisO’s Christmas Tasting, 28th Dec 2010. Cloudy orange, slight white head. Light fresh linen nose. Needs more citrus bite but it’s nicely light and soft, very drinkable.

Color: nice clear blond beer with small copper reflexion, medium carbonation and medium white foam. Smell: good malt presence with hops and caramel notes. Taste: good equilibrium with malt on first taste and hops domination. Bread and caramel. Aftertaste: nice sweet bitterness and caramel.

Bottle at a tasting thanks to David and Catherine
Appearance : Hazy amber, some lacing and small head.
Aroma : Fruity and hoppy. Very nice fruits. Some malt.
Taste : Very fresh and fruity. Carbonation quite soft.
Overall : Very very fruity. Quite enjoyable. Very drinkable. Maybe a bit simple or a bit too much on the fruit juice side. Still very enjoyable. A bit of a surprise.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Very hazy gold beer with a very small white head. Softish palate with mild carbonation. Marmaladish orange with sweet caramel malt underneath. Finishes soft. Like the way this beer delivers it’s hops in a soft way - makes a change from the usual slap accross the chops!
