3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 trujahwarrior (284) - Monroe, Washington, USA - FEB 11, 2013
Pours a brown/copper color with a medium whit head that leaves good lacing. Smells of roasted malt, caramel, plums, and dark chocolate. Tastes of all the same things in the smell also some nutty flavor added as well. Mouthfeel is medium and slightly creamy with good carbonation. Overall this is a pretty solid dark lager. Ninkasi is slowly growing on me lately. I noticed the beers they brew that aren?t part of their regular lineup are better.

Bottle:   Brownish, faint garnet hues, moderate frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft malty nose, a bit nutty.   Malty on the tongue, smooth, but not very big.   Falls off quickly, but its clean.   A bit nutty.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Backside is a bit mealy.   Otherwise a clean example, mild sweetness.   Fairly good.

Taste of roasted malt, caramel, a bit of nuts, and a small amount of dark fruits in the back. Ends a little thick and somewhat bitter.

A - Pours a fairly dark brown-ruby color with a finger of frothy off white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of roasted malts with hints of cocoa and coffee, a bit of vanilla and nuttiness, some earthy hops, and some lager esters.
T - Starts off with a mix of roasted dark malts with some chocolate coming through and a bit of vanilla. Through the middle, some coffee comes through with some earthy hops and a hint of black licorice. The finish is a mix of roasted dark malts, cocoa, coffee, earthy hops, a touch of vanilla, and some lager esters.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, sweet, and astringent finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice smooth dark lager with good over balance and complexity.

Another thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this. Pours clear bronze / mahogany with a small off-white head. The aroma has smooth bready malt, lager smoothness and dry toffee. Medium crisp body with a light amount of carbonation. The flavor begins with the aroma traits spot on along with a bit of hop presence and some dry toffee. The finish is a bit astringent. Nice dunkel.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Reid (1615) - Salem,Oregon, Oregon, USA - NOV 4, 2012
12 oz single from "Lifesource" Salem .
$1.79
Deep amber , maybe brown with ruby accents beer, with a large thick, frothy light tan coloured head.
not much aroma to talk off what there is is milk chocolate and weak coffee..
Flavour is slightly more chocolate and coffee, slightly roasty in character.
Mouthfeel is OK for style, nothing to go crazy over
Altogether kinda boring, i think the extra lagering took any character it might have had away.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 seymour (1136) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 3, 2012
Tasted a 12oz brown bottle into a mini schooner glass. Thanks Greg and Joe! It poured a clear medium brown color with weak off-white head. Aroma was sweet malt with noble hops. Flavors were Munich malt, toasty, fruity, melanoidiny, caramelly, toffee. Thin body and mouthfeel, weak finish. Decent, but not memorable.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown but looks red in the light; has a small beige head that falls after a minute or two. Aroma is faint toasted marshmallow, dark fruit. Taste is sweet with hardly any bitterness. It’s roasty, nutty, creamy. Pretty tasty.
