COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ninkasi used all German malt from Weyermann (pils, Munich, Caramunich and Dehusked Carafe) to concoct this Prussion-style brew. Two early additions of U.S. Hallertau hops provide a spicy balance. This beer was lagered for two months before being centrifuged, and then lagered another two months for a clean, crisp tasting experience at the festival.(Color: Brown)

Tap at OBF. Pours towards cola color! Aroma suggests fruit and malt. Med body. Flavor is lightly darkish malt (whatever that means) with a fair amount of noble hop. Lightly spicy hop. Itís not an over the top beer, but itís extremely flavorful. It just hurts my mind to think this is "International-Style Pilsener". Iíd like to think itís a tasty ale. Brown color? Apparently intentional. Brown is the description in the OBF guide book.

Sample at Saddle Rock in Wenatchee, WA. Cola-colored pour with a medium white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lace. The aroma consists of doughy malt and hops. Light body with flavors of spiced hops, bready malt and a touch of earth. The finish is hoppy up front and leaves a toasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Deep amber-brown colour. Thin white head. The nose is quite rich and sweet. Toasted malt with some stewed fruit and a nice soft sweetness. Well-attenuated though with a light bitterness that also helps cut the sweetness. Clean and quite well-lagered (always a bonus). It could probably be amped up a little bit on the body but itís not objectionable at all. Nice brew

Pour on tap, reddish brown pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, dark fruits, red berry, hints of dark cocoa, nuts in there, spice as well, some earthy, herbal hops as well. Taste is a mix of herbal, earthy, and grassy hops into some dark fruit, caramel, toffee, nutty notes with a hint of cocoa, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter. Pretty nice for the style.

On tap at Bier 30. Pours a dark mocha color with a medium white head. A nice nose of light roast and floral hops. The flavor is coca-cola like with some light caramel and roast, sweet fruity hops. Easy and tasty. A dark Pilsner?

Bottle:   Brownish, faint garnet hues, moderate frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Soft malty nose, a bit nutty.   Malty on the tongue, smooth, but not very big.   Falls off quickly, but its clean.   A bit nutty.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Backside is a bit mealy.   Otherwise a clean example, mild sweetness.   Fairly good.

Draft at ebp. Murky dark ebony. Scant wispy tan head. Mild chocolateish black bread nose. Creamy medium body, carb is a little flabby. Black bread and dark chocolate mid palate. Not bad but kind of subdued.

Bottle... Poured dark ruby-ish/brown with a thin light, khaki head. Nose had some simple syrup and sugary malt. Easy drinking lager. Some toasted sugars and bready malts. Very malty and worty. Some hop spicing but overall on the sweet side. Finish clean with residual sugars.

Another thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this. Pours clear bronze / mahogany with a small off-white head. The aroma has smooth bready malt, lager smoothness and dry toffee. Medium crisp body with a light amount of carbonation. The flavor begins with the aroma traits spot on along with a bit of hop presence and some dry toffee. The finish is a bit astringent. Nice dunkel.
