Special Release Series. A salute to the playful side of summer, we had fun with this beer! Maiden the Shade has a big robust hop character from the liberal use of 7 different varieties of hops. It s completed with a light colored malt backbone to stay in balance. Kick back and enjoy!

Bottle (22oz $6): Light golden with 2 finder head. Slightly toasted malts. Slightly sweet. Some fruity ness but the piney aftertaste was metallic which ruined it for me.

Light colored citrus aroma summer ipa. Lightly malty and mild to medium bitterness. Smells better than it tastes with less grapefruit and citrus flavor than expected. Not pleasant flavor.

tap. Loads of mango, tropical fruits in the nose of this one. Really fruity, nice bitterness but some lingering sweetness. Nice enough.

Lots of floral and citrus hop aromas coming off a clear medium yellow body with a foamy white head. This really is a Summer IPA! More citrus and bitter pith in the taste along with a really nice crisp biscuity malt body with honey and sugar sweetness. Medium bodies but fairly easy drinking despite being a bit heavy for a summer ale. Long lasting delicious bitterness on the tongue. Great summer beer with lots of character.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, kumquat, resin), with light notes of sauerkraut, yellow squash. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent, lightly alcoholic. Simple citrus-resin hop aroma is partly ruined by some icky vegetal notes, and it’s quite sour and kinda dirty in the mouth. Glad to see they’re no longer stealing Iron Maiden’s font, because frankly the beer isn’t worthy to be associated with such an influential band.

Bomber. Grass and citrus hop aroma with floral and pine hops in there as well. Pours golden colored with a large, soapy white head with excellent retention and very little lacing. Starts with bright grapefruit citrus and grass flavors. Finishes quite dry with floral and pine hops attacking and clinging to the palate with the grapefruit acidity. Pretty good, but not sure how this qualifies as a summer style IPA.

651 ml. bottle. Pours a thick, well retained, white head, with moderate lacing, over a clear, light gold (SRM 4) body....nose is light toasted malts, pine, resin, citrus notes, from the hops, balance to the hops......taste is slightly sweet, with cereal, toasted malts, pine, resin, light floral notes, citrus tones, from the hops, leading to a soft lingering bitter finish.....mouth feel, medium body, slight alcohol, high carbonation. This is a quite typical American IPA, with dominant American hops in both aroma and flavor. It is not harshly bitter as are many in the genre, with the result being a soft, refreshing and easily drinkable beer. BJCP 9/3/15/4/8

Bomber poured a clear yellow with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, lemon zest, grassiness, dank bud and pine. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness, light lemon zest and light pine with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.
