On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Great well rounded hop flavors but at the same time very mild. Interesting beer. Would be great outside on a sunny day.

2.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Smithfields in Ashland. Little-to no aroma and a dank yellow color suggest disaster lies ahead, but no... a lively lemon-peel-plus-hops flavor surprises. Extra-faint malts.Refreshing, summery.... but definitely an only-in-summer beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle and draft, 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a medium golden color, decent amount of head. Aroma malty with some caramel and resinous notes. Body lively, finish sweet with a lively lingering bitterness. Better than I remembered, really dig this.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the brewery. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma is resinous pine hops. Spicy, cat pee and some fruitiness. Hop character is massive but muddled. Flavor is mostly bitter with some of the flavor notes coming forward slightly. Big bitter aftertaste. Ok.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Glass from a bottle. Thanks JLH. Clear straw gold, minimal cap but the ring sticks for okay lacing. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, cookie. Taste is where the hops shine. Similar presence of malt showcased in aroma, but a nice dank attic yeasty taste, and citrus rind. Drawn out dryness.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from the bottle. Slightly hazy. Nice head and good lacing. Aroma is of Nobel hops? Not too strong though. Flavour is very mellow and quite seasonable. Palate is clean and has a bright bitterness, but no real defined hop flavour coming through. Probably the most disappointing Ninkasi I’ve had.

August 2012. 22 oz. bottle. Perfect summer beer. Golden yellow color with a nice white head. Lots and lots of hops with malty aromas. Citrus, pine, resin, it’s all there. Dry, bitter finish.
