A salute to the playful side of summer, we had fun with this beer! Maiden the Shade has a big robust hop character from the liberal use of 7 different varieties of hops. It s completed with a light colored malt backbone to stay in balance. Kick back and enjoy!

On tap at The Lamplighter Vancouver. Beautiful clear deep red colour. Fresh pine and citrus as expected, the flavour is subtle for 7% and mighty enjoyable

Moderate white head that fades quick. Pale golden color, clear but not brilliant. Fruity hop aroma dominates, stone fruit with a light malt sweetness. Medium-full body with moderate - high carbonation. Starts with a fair sweetness tha finishes dry, with a strong hop bitterness. Not the best IPA in the world but at a BBQ or after a long day, quite sessionable. Although the ABV can catch up with you.

22 oz bomber crushed with Dadbra. Hazy orange with a nice white head. This just a nicely balanced, fruity, slightly hoppy ipa that drinks like a session. Probably dangerous how easy this is to drink. Very nice.

Reminds me of founder all day ipa. Grassy and hoppy the whole way through. Pours an amber orange with a light head.

Grumbler purchase from Breeze-IN, Juneau, AK. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to orange color allowing a fairly decent carbonation to be seen rising throughout the beer. The smell had a decent amount of bitter citrus hops and a slight grassy note rolling underneath. There are some light sweet malts coming through as it warms. The taste was mainly sweet through a combination of the citrus hops and grassiness to the malts. However, the bitterness does come back to make a play on my taste buds to add just a touch of itself to the aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. I was hoping it would have been more sessionable. I mean the sessionability seemed to be there for the most part but I thought this would have been more. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA worthy of having again but probably not worth the hype that surrounds it.

Bottle. Pours a hazy copperish color with a moderate white head on it. Nose has some really nice and fresh grass and citrus notes to it, making it seem very summery. Taste is moderately bitter, yet manages to be very light and thirst quenching. Really nice summer beer.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear gold with an off white head. Fruity nose. Flavors of mandarin orange and grapefruit. Refreshing, slightly bitter finish.

Draft at alewife. Pours a clear orange golden body with thin white head. Aroma is light citrus. Nose is pretty plain overall. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with medium plus carbonated feel on the palate followed by flavors of citrus hops, citrus candy, light prickly spice and light wheat.
