4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bought this in August in Portland and brought it back to Vancouver Island. Forgot about in the basement until this weekend. What a nice surprise when I cracked open this little beauty. A mouthful of elegant hops and bitter citrus that permeates the taste buds. Delicious!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Crisp gold with a white head. Nose is fresh hops, florals, light malt, resinous. Great palate, chewy malts, bright, bitter, pine, smooth finish

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
short lasting white head... the brew is slightly hazed lite golden.
Great punch of citrus hops that outweigh but donít blow out some nice pale maltiness.
Not quite bitter enough for a big PNW IPA, but the hops mid palate more than make up for it... Again, some pale malts help keep things in perspective.
Good body and carbonation.. finish reminds me of tangerine juice without the sweetness.... I guess maybe just tangerine zest.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Floral and lightly fruity hops - doesnít seem terribly fresh but I see no date on this or the session IPA. Not too impressed, but not bad either.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fairly yeasty nose with some tropical fruit nose. Medium body, moderately bitter, but I did detect a bit of DMS. Light bodied. Big bitter finish. Not too bad, but nothing too special.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bOTTLE. Pours a pale yellow with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is light sweet malt and floral hops. Flavor is a touch of sweet on the start with a nice floral bitter finish. The more you drank, the more the bitterness stood out. Medium body with good carbonation.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Bright golden, energetically active, with a huge top. The aroma is bright and full of citrus bloom. This drinks with a slippery feel, rife with a good balance of American west-coast IPA styles ... snappy acidity, citrus and a nice solid base of chewy malt. (#6033, 9/13/2015)

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
First beer after arriving back to society. The patchouli handcream isnít helping nail down the aroma. The taste is pretty good and powerful. Plenty of pepper, pine, rrgf on the nonsweet side, tangerine. Pretty good feel but damn does this ever fall apart. Very good right off the tap but it dies. I like them to warm a bit - donít make that mistake with this. It doesnít suck after but itís a different beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap pour at Tilt in Portland. Pint glass. Golden with orange hues. Aroma is heavy on hops with citrus characteristics. Kind of a standard IPA but itís enjoyable. Taste has plenty of bitterness but itís offset well by citrus and a little sweetness. Mouthfeel has a bit of oily nature. Aftertaste emphasizes the hoppy side of things. Drinkable with a just above session quality to it. Ninkasi delivers another successful effort.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber bought at Super 1, rated on paper a couple nights ago in my cabin at Lolo Hot Springs. Aroma is strong citrus, lesser floral notes. Pours hazy golden with an off-white lacy head with excellent retention. Tastes pretty old--couldnít find a date. Medium-high bitterness. Not good. I can tell this would be really tasty fresh so Iíll give some benefit of the doubt.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I choose my tulip glass from the case, crack the cap and lean into the neck. The aroma is bright, and I donít want to wait to get a good draw on it. I pour a light amber beer into the glass, the head growing quickly under the flow, and rising into a thick, bright white depth, about an inch deep.
The aroma is bright, refreshing, sunshiny and full of grapefruit and tangerine, some spruce creeps in on the back end of my deep breath and tightens it all up into a very nice experience.
The first draw on the glass proves the point that my olfactory senses are trying to make, this is delicious. Itís light, clean, the flavor mirrors the aroma, and the heady sweetness of the malt is breaking down the bite of the hops. The carbonation is perfect, not too light, not overactive. The further I drink the more Iím convinced I am drinking a sure winner. Then Iím called away for a few minutes, and the experience heads south.
The carbonation takes a flying leap out the window in only a few minutes and is no longer there to buoy the fragrance or the flavor. It lies down and takes the great experience with it. The flavor is still there, but I have to look for it.
This time, I loved the beer right out of the bottle, but it doesnít hold up long. Drink this! Definitely drink it, but make sure you drink it fast.
