Bottle received in trade from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a solid dark brown/black with a decent sized bubbly tan head that quickly dissipates to a small cap on top. Aromas of coffee and chocolate with bits of caramel and cereal grains and hints of fruit. The flavor is what I expected from the aroma. Roasted creamed coffee with a touch of chocolate and caramel and a hint of lactose? Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Decent brew, but seems a bit lacking in body and mouthfeel.

So much better than the vanilla version, lots of oatmeal, chocolate, tasty, so drinkable. Black bodied, spot on, smooth.

a little disappointing given the high marks; this probably has a year or two of age on it. Aroma is subtle - nothing jumps out - roast, coffee. nice blac pour. palate is toooo thin for this style - where are the oats?? taste is thin with light flavors of roast, chocolate and coffee - maybe it is too subtle for me?

Nice aroma of vanilla hits you right of the bat. Nice chocolate and subdued coffee. Quickly disappearing head next to no lacing.

(Another sample from Kenneth) The nose is roasty malts, with notes of chocolate and coffee. Pours a thick brownish-black with slight tan head and minimal lacing. The taste, while lightly sweet, has a nice roasty quality about it. Chocolate, oats, and hints of coffee, cola, and a slight suggestion of sourness round out the flavors. Nice. Full body with moderate carbonation. Pleasing round mouth feel. Overall, this was a very tastyand satisfying sweet stout. Iím sure that Otis is proud.

It pours a dark brown close to black colored body with a slim half finger off-white/tan foamy head, some lacing slides into the body as it goes down. The aroma has some dark roasted malts, light coffee, slightly oaty. The taste has some roasted sweetness, slight chocolate, bittersweet chocolate aftertaste, and ends with a dry finish. Its somewhat easy on the palate. Overall, this is a good oatmeal stout, definitely worthy of many more pours and as a breakfast stout.

on tap @ Provisions Market, pours a deep brown with a frothy foamy head, smells a bit lackluster, slight hops but not much else, taste is smooth malt and a hint of oatmeal and bread. Quite good

Bottled: unk A: dark brown on black with a sheet of light mocha foam. Spotty lace. S: Smells like a bag of buttered popcorn (before it gets popped). This is a complete failure to the nose for a stout. That being said, itís almost fetish like with itís tones. T: Still buttery, with some roasted malts, burnt caramel, a weird manure tone. M: medium on full bodied with lower carb, semi dry finish. Pretty decent here. O: This beer is not a good example of an oatmeal stout. could be the bottle, but I wonít know unless somebody else gives me some of their bottle, because this is shite. Black color, tan head. Aroma of cinnamon and charcoal. Sips full and with alcohol up front with big oat taste. ..duh itís called oatis! Creamy texture with the roasted burnt malt flavors. High alcohol is pretty prevalent, but Iím drinkin it fast so it might be different as it warms.
