Poured out of a bomber into a tulip glass. Black as night with a nice inch and a half of tan, big bubbled head. Smells of roasted malt and dark chocolate. Burnt malt dominates the flavor. The hops grab the tongue with just enough bitterness at the end. Light to medium body, light carbonation. Very drinkable. This is a good stout, solid taste and easy drinking. The only (slight) letdown is the body. A little creaminess or softness is what I expect in an oatmeal stout and it was not there.

nose: like a concentrated black butte porter. perfect. palate: this is everything i want in a stout. strong cocoa but not too sweet, not roasted to starbux levels where itís just charcoaly and bitter, super aromatic, not over-hopped, great creamy carbonation to offset the sweetness and long pleasant cacao finish. beautiful on so many levels. i was hesitant to give it a perfect score but iíve had too many stouts that were just gross.

!Bottle (22oz $4):pours black with a little tan jean. The bitter sweet chocolate taste a little to much. To many others to try but not bad.

On tap at Kin. Pours a dark black color with some beige head. Mild roasted malt and hops. Mildly sweet. Nicely balanced.

Oatis encompasses all of the best aspects of the Oatmeal Stout. Rich, smooth, sweet - itís all here. The note of chocolate - brownie-like and fused with some coffee roast - is brilliant. While the hops are present enough to wash the palate, Oatis never lets you forget that itís a malty, creamy brew. A killer option for pairing with dessert, Oatis is an awesomely balanced Stout with warmth and velvety sleekness to spare.

Choc and sweet almost grainy flavor come from this deep brown brew with a light brown head. The flavor is choc and sweetness with that slight oatmeal flavor in the end. The bitterness comes at the end and in good combo. Itís a pretty decent full bodied brew with a good carb. And a slight dry flavor/mouthfeel at then end.

Pretty good, but not my favorite. I wish it was creamier and less bitter. However, still very enjoyable.

5 oz sample. Draft at thirsty lion in OR. Hints of coffee, Cocoa nibs, roast malts. Medium body. Medium light sweetness. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
