22oz Bottle. The pour was a thick muddy dark black with a large (2-3 finger) tan creamy head that had great retention, receding slowly down to a medium cap with excellent thick sheets of spotty lacing. The aroma was sweet and roasty up front with some burnt cereal malts, mild resin hops and a doughy leathery yeasty and had notes of molasses, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a nice smooth oat presence. The taste was extremely malty and a tad roasty sweet with hints of molasses and chocolate early on, becoming bitter sweet with a mild creamy oat presence and a nice dose off coffee towards the finish. The flavor stuck around for a good long while following the swallow, with a bold bitter roastiness left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was full in body with a smooth, dry texture and a very soft carbonation. Overall this brew was tremendously tasty and possessed an awesome body along with a fantastic drinkability, which all together did a great job of concealing the somewhat high ABV...

Bottle thanks to joenugs. poured into a snifter. Nose is sweet, decadent chocolate. slightly milky, with some dark cocoa as well. Deep brown, darker than one of the stouts I had tonight! Taste is grainy, almost wheaty up front with a slight slickness to it as well. Chocolate comes through mid palate, with a moderate bitterness. Dries out in the finish without astringency or harshness. This does not taste like a 7% beer by any means, very smooth, chocolate and oats work in harmony on this one! Thanks!

Pours dark brown....almost cola like, but very minimal head. Big roasty malt aroma with a bit of coffee. Nice creamy body. Good solid stout with appropriate roasted flavor, coffee, hint of chocolate, toffee and earthiness.

Black pour with a lasting foamy sticky light khaki head. Lovely semisweet roasty nose with a touch of coffee and chocolaty oatmeal--and roast. The flavor is kinda dark and roasty, lightly bitter, earthy malty, semi dry, and clean creamy finishing. Good, not great.

There was no smoke with this beer and it poured a black with a thick tan head that left a good amount of lacing. The aroma is nuttiness, dark fruits, dark roasted malts, dark chocolate. The taste is creamy, dark roasted malts, minimal bitterness, dark fruits, dark chocolate. I was expecting this beer to be a little more sweet from the aroma.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin, poorly retained beige head, with slight lacing, oveer a clear brownish black (SRM 35) body.....nose is roasted malts, with coffee, chocolate notes, herbal hops, balance to the malts....taste is slightly sweet, with hints of toffee/caramel, strong roasted malts, with coffee, chocolate notes, finishing with a lingering, roasted coffee, herbal hop bitterness......mouth feel, medium body, creamy carbonation, slight alcohol warmth. This is listed as a Sweet Stout by the rating system, but the brewery calls it an Oatmeal Stout. It is minimally sweet, with strong roasted malt character, and mouth feel is very consistent with an Oatmeal Stout. It is a good Oatmeal. BJCP 8/3/14/5/7

On tap at the Shamrock in Pueblo. Pour is deep brown with a big brown head and great lacing. Roasty, oaty, light vanilla, somewhat earthy, coffee, and cocoa in the aroma. Taste is roasty, some grass, lighty espresso, vanilla, and hoppy with a light bitter bite on the backend. Medium body with high carbonation. Decent stuff.

taste is quite sweet, but it has lingering bitterness. Caramel and toffee are noticeable.
