Radiant Summer Ale is, "Crisp and flavorful, Radiant Summer Ale is a clean finishing summer offering in the Ninkasi tradition. The smooth malt character is balanced by a clean noble hop presence, the perfect compliment to a glorious summer day! 6% alc./vol. 40 ibus." It’s dry-hopped with Liberty hops. It’s more bitter rather than floral and has a crisp, clean finish.

22 ounce bottle from a mixed 4 pack that was purchased at BevMo in Natomas, CA. The aroma is metallic with a little spiciness, and not much else happening. Maybe a little ginger spiciness? This has a lot of floaties it. Copper colored body with a smallish off-white head present. This is a pretty smooth and malty start. Caramel malts with a little nuttiness present. Finishes with a snappy, crisp, grassy hoppy finish. Moderate bitterness. I’m usually not a big fan of APAs, but this one is delicious.

bottle... dark gold with bright orange hue, bright tope head, half creamy half bubbles, ok lace.. weak nose of baby vomit and bo with a bit of oranges, bad... juvenile taste, light caramel with oranges, bitter alcohol hops, blah... pass

12 oz bottle into Sam Adams glass. Pours a hazy tangerine color with sediment floating around and a light-beige medium head with decent retention; leaves Rorschach-like lacework. Aroma is floral, bready. Taste is characteristically Ninkasi, that is, pretty damn bitter. Highly carbonated with an oily mouthfeel; finish is long and bitter. It’s good, but it doesn’t really seem like a summer beer. It’s too bitter for that.

Hazy golden amber with a big bubbly white head, moderate retention and very nice lace. Floral hops aromas. Well balanced flavor profile with caramel and bread malt sweetness offset by a dry floral hops bitterness. Medium body and carbonation, somewhat creamy mouthfeel, and a clean dry finish. Terrific Summer quaff.

I first expected Radiant to be more hoppy than it turned out to be, most of my expectations deriving from the hoppy aroma. The beer is amber in color, and poured a average head. The flavor lacking to my standards of pale ale hoppyness, the main flavor is a sweet malty toner, with a minimal bitter aftertaste.

Botle from BevMo Arden. Pours cloudy golden with a thick beige head and a floral aroma. There is a full-bodied pale malt flavor with a dry bitter finish. Fairly well-balanced and easy to drink.

Disappointing beer heavy-handed bitter hopping up front in the bittering phase and possibly the dry-hopping. The result is a brutal bitterness without much subtlety, makes for a smacking of the tongue to try to remove the resinous aftertaste. Body clear and good, but this once hot brewery is under-performing of late. Perhaps the expansion to commercial production has affected things?

Really enjoyed this beer, as I do most Ninkasi products. A nice refreshing summer beer. Seems like it should be more malty than it is, the hops are what stand out.

Oily amber with a lovely lacing. Its got a deep, burnished malt character to the nose like a good English bitter. Very English in the mouth too with the hop flavours taking a back seat and giving pride of place to a caramel-smooth finish.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Hops aroma with a light malt backing. Awesome flavors big hops and malt. Slight floral and some spices come out. This is a tasty brew. Great new brew in the new 12oz bottles.
