2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 Beerenberger (800) - Fischer, Texas, USA - OCT 12, 2012
Aroma is malt forward with notes of chocolate and roasted malts. Pours an almost black with a dark tan head and excellent lacing. After the nose, the taste was underwhelming. A mild roasted taste and then a coffee finish and aftertaste. Medium-light bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, bland, almost no tastevat all…6will not buy again.

Bottle.
A somewhat underwhelming porter, cocoa powder but no spark. Ninkasi usually does better than this.

Bomber thanks to Mike. Pours a deep brown color with some mahogany, a beige head. A light nose of cocoa and toast. A pretty mellow porter with caramel, toast, light chocolate, maybe some hop bitterness. Very light. OK.

Bottle: Dark brown with a thin head. The description of bittersweet chocolate is very accurate, plus a little roast and yeast. Consistent through the flavor too. Good chocolate to bittersweet to roast ratio. Moderate in intensity and I found this rather easy to cruise through the whole bottle solo.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 gregwilsonstl (668) - USA - JUN 22, 2012
Dark black. Tastes like chocolate milk...with a hint of hops. Creamy. Amazing porter.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (9004) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 14, 2012
Bomber from Harry & Davids in Medford, OR. Pours very dark brown with a 3 finger creamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate - medium chocolate. Med body plus a little. Frothy carb. Flavor is chocolate over smooth, but ashy, burnt malt. Plus I think there’s a definite smoke aspect. Smooth. Nearly dry. Mildly bitter. Still think smoked chocolate is the finish. Pretty decent stuff. I like it more than most porters.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 steview (1011) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 4, 2012
It’s okay. It’s boring and mediocre. The mouthfeel is nice. The appearance is just right with me. The aroma and taste are not offensive, but rather bland. It’s like a lower grade of steak. You’ve got it medium-rare, but why isn’t this Kobe? It seems like it should be a special ale.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 vulcanmeister (137) - La Grande, Oregon, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Poured from 12oz bottle a deep brown fluid with a medium tan head. Smell was not distinct and mouth feel was very thin. The malt came through buytt the finish was more distinct. More bitter and dry than I expected.
