12 oz bottle bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Pours almost opaque black with reddish tints; has a thin beige head that holds for a couple of minutes. Aroma is faintly bready--thatís all Iím getting. Taste is bittersweet--the bitterness is much more prominent than the Big Sky Bobo I rated last night, which was sweeter, but this is Ninkasi, after all. Has a nice roasty flavor. Carbonation is average and the mouthfeel is creamy. Not as good as Bobo, but this is good.

12 oz. bottle- Pours almost black with a nice creamy tan two finger head. The aroma is chocolate malts, it smells like bakers chocolate. The taste is roasted chocolate malt, robust, fairly creamy, mild hops. This does not push any boundaries whatsoever, leaving the term renewale kind of perplexing, but it is good, a straightforward porter.

Bottle: dark brown with a tan head. Eggy aroma as well as charcoal. Malty flavors but not much in the flavor. Expected more. Thin finish.

A big bodied porter. A nice roasted flavor that is not too overpowering but quality. Carbonated a lot for a porter but still a quality brew.

Aroma is malt forward with notes of chocolate and roasted malts. Pours an almost black with a dark tan head and excellent lacing. After the nose, the taste was underwhelming. A mild roasted taste and then a coffee finish and aftertaste. Medium-light bodied with minimal carbonation. Overall, bland, almost no tastevat allÖ6will not buy again.

On tap at the brewery. dark brown pour with a light tan head. Aroma is bitter chocolate, a little roast, and some hops. Iím not sure what was going on, but all the beers at the brewery from the tap tasted a little overhopped for the styles. Oh well. Flavor was good with some chocolate and roasted barely notes. A bit of that hop kick. Not bad.

Dark black. Tastes like chocolate milk...with a hint of hops. Creamy. Amazing porter.

Boringgggg. Decent chocolate aroma but other than that its a flat chalky, bittersweet forgettable beer.

Pours a deep brown with red highlights. Chocolate and coffee ground aroma. Taste is bittersweet chocolate with a surprising amount of roasted malt. Ash like finish as well - seems more like a stout in some respects. Bitterness seems disjointed with the roast. Chocolate tries to restore some balance. Not bad.
