3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazy light yellowish amber with only a skin of a off white film serving as an excuse for a head. Aroma is a sweet papery light malt with some soft vanilla notes. Tastes a surprising lightly toasted flavor, cereal and and odd late bitterness that is not what I would call "Northwest" hops. Papery and leathery. Strange. Not strong enough to be offensive, but curious and a bit out of place. Not exactly dry, but medium bodied and lacking the crispness of a more attenuated APA.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Collins. Pours a honey straw color with an off-white head and clings. Aromas of sugar and caramel and toasted malts. Taste is hoppy, though, with sharp citrus and some floral.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, shared with parksy. Pours a slightly hazy deep orange amber with a creamy vanilla head. Toasty and fruity aroma. Very toasty toffee flavours, citrus and conifer hops with a moderately bitter finish. Compared to Pyramid Fling, this had more tout. Very nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled on 3/26/2010. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is citrusy and hoppy, malty and sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are caramel, malty and sweet. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Nice balance. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bottle from New Seasons - This one had a fantastic floral aroma right out of the bottle with about a 3/4 inch foam head. Once the foam dissipated a little, some of the aroma went away. Palate was a bit lively, but not too much. Nice bitter finish for a Pale. This is a very nice beer. Too bad itís only available in the spring.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 24, 2010 Bottled. Gold pour with a fluffy off-white white head on it. Juicy hop aroma on this with citrus along with dank notes: wet earth and grass. Tastes lightly toasty and biscuity, with a bright citrus hop finish. A little bit of resinous bitter lingers on the finish. Nice moderately light body, pleasant carbonation. I love Ninkasi for being cheap and reliable.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Up there quite high in the eschelons of my favorite APAs. This is nearly IPA, said near-IPAness being a characteristic reminiscent of Great Lakes Burning River Pale Ale. These particularly memorable APAs succeed by infusing more bitterness into their profiles. I donít know what hop varieties in particular might have been used in the process of bringing this beer recipe to fruition, but one thing is unmistakable: itís heavy on the hop trichomes or whatever the relevant bitterness molecules are called.

Draft at Stanfordís @ PBX. A nice yellow color with white head. Very dry and crisp. A roasted malt flavor that doesnít interfere with the lightness of the beer. A delicatly bitter finish.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
In a tulip glass at Monkís Kettle at a Ninkasi paired dinner. Pours a brushed gold with a fluffy white head. Lots of buiscuit and bread with a clean meadow scent showing very late. Palate is very bitter and some nice grass hops at the end. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied to slightly thin.
