Out of a bottle into a pint glass. Golden pour to light amber once in the glass. A nice half finger of head formed and held. Wow, honeysuckle, lime and grapefruit in the background. An excellent fragrance. Lots going on in this drink. Soft texture and honey at first, moving to lots of carbonation and a hop kick and ending with a touch of honey again. The first drink was surprising, but after a couple it is nice. It tends towards an IPA with the amount of hops coming through. It is probably on the edge of its style but that only makes me like it a little more. A little confused with the abrupt changes from honey to hops and back again... but definitely worth a sixer.

Nice APA from Ninkasi. Pours a hazy gold with a 2 finger foam head - respectable lacing so far. Very interesting balance between sweet floral hop flavours and bitterness. Very well balanced. Has a dry hoppy palate and is very drinkable. Yum!

Bottle. A: Murky, light-amber color, foamy half-inch white head, N: Toast, pine, black peppercorn, light citrus, cracker, a bit of doughiness. T: Quite bitter, very light sweetness. M: Medium-light body, some alcohol presence, fizzy carbonation. O: A decent APA. It might be moderately superior to SNPA,, and I think it is one of Ninkasi’s best beers. (Which I suppose isn’t saying much given my view of beers like Total Domination.)

Draft at Barrel Republic. Pours hazy amber with a thick, creamy white head. Tastes fruity, like raspberry, musky grains, very dry grapefruit, citrus hops, and cookie malt. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like sweet fruit, raspberry, citrus hops, cookie malt.

12 oz bottle.
Clear light amber, thin beige head, spotty lace.
Caramel malt aroma, with some light fruity hops.
Flavor is much more hop forward than the aroma. Pine and citrus up front, sweet malts in the middle, long bitter finish.

Bottle from Safeway in Milwaukie OR. Pours an almost clear orange / amber. Mild hoppy nose with malts smoothing the initial and palate tasting....pleasant....not sure about the session part...6% is a little heavy for a full evening...but guess everyone wants on the session wagon.

Bottle from Fred Meyer. Slightly hazy brownish/gold in color. Slightly skunky hop nose. Somewhat pungent. Food hoppiness throughout. Fish is pretty bitter. Underlying breadiness and a fairly creamy mouthfeel.

chinchill (2709) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 10, 2014
22 oz bottle served in a wine glass in Oregon (from summer 2014 notes). Excellent clarity and carbonation in an amber body. Crisp, near medium body. Flavor: This has the hop load and bitterness of an IPA. Overly bitter and piney aftertaste with lingering grapefruit peel. O: recommended for hop heads who favor piney hops and plenty of grapefruity bitterness.

"the brewer’s description above is pretty dead on. a pleasant enough pale ale...well balanced and quaffable...nothing special but the toasted malt is done well. smells a tad hoppier than it ended up being, though."

From notes: Poured from a bottle it is a cloudy golden color with a slight head. The aroma is citrus and it has a bitter flavor of citrus mainly oranges that lingers on the palate.
