Seasonal Release Series. Spring forward with this refreshing seasonal ale. Notes of toasted malt up front with a bright and crisp Northwest hop finish. Itís a session beer that everyone can enjoy.

Like many Ninkasi beers, this is an ale more than a specific style, though we put it in the Northwest Pale category. A light toasted malt flavor is more reminiscent of a British Pale, but the hops are bright and very Northwest. Flavorful and easy to drink!

12oz bottle pours with a nearly clear pure gold body that supports a near white head. The aroma offers up a blend of cracker like malts, floral hops and a dash of lime hard candy. The taste begins pretty nice as the malts and sort of cracker like sensation are met by an equal level of hop bitterness that seems floral and a bit spicy and grassy and lime like. The bitter citrus hop character builds to a moderate level to midway and then maintains that into the finish. Pretty nice pale.

On tap at Henryís. Orange with a thin white head. Sharp citrus, very crisp hop nose. Big grapefruit character, slightly pithy and lots of bitterness. Fruity and overhopped pale, unbalanced, but still refreshing.

From a 22 ounce bottle. Slightly hazed amber with one finger of off white head. (gentle pour) Good amount of lacings. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is citrus grapefruit orange hops and strong support from the sweet malts. Tasted like a nice West Coast Pale Ale to my palate. Easy drinker, very smooth. Medium dry finish. Very fine spring beer. I believe this beer was quite fresh and it is the first time I have seen it on the shelves in the Portland area.

4/18/09 at Hops & Props, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is sweet malt forward with a light earthy and citrus note. Appearance is hazy gold with a medium maintained white head. Flavor is an even citrus hop and simple sweet malt blend. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb texture. Overall, very sessionable and simple, but to itís benefit.

22 oz bottles and several times on tap. Definitely better on tap than it is out of the bottle. Deep golden color with a solid white head. Aroma is very floral with some hints of citrus and a light grainy bit at the end. Flavor is very floral and citrus with a little bit of a malt backdrop. Pretty hop forward for the style, but thatís how I like my beers.
