Citrus and some light pine with bread y notes and some floral notes. Nothing crazy if you ask me. notalush (2648), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2009 Shared by goldtwins at Peter’s NY gathering - a rather presumptuous name, but whatever - hazy gold pour - herbal and doughy in the nose, with a light citrus component (smells like hoppy bread) - quite bitter and floral, with some orange rind flavor - doesn’t muster much malt to balance it - overall a decent IPA, but one that doesn’t stand out from 95% of the others. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 23, 2009 The nose has bready, earthy notes, with a touch of grapefruit. Full bodied with lots of caramel and grapefruit. Fairly straightforward, but balanced IPA. Moderate bitter finish. Fairly drinkable without being over the top. omhper (12174), Stockholm, Sweden
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 23, 2009 Draught at Ushi-Tora, Tokyo, Japan. Lightly hazy bronze colour, small head. Light citric hops upfront. Medium bodied with clean caramelly malt. Slightly salty with shallow simplistic malt character barely covered in a thin blanket of citric hops. Capa (968), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 11, 2009 Copper orange with a nice white head. Citrus, oranges, light caramel malts, grapefruit in the aroma. Real smooth- nearly muted bitterness compared to aroma. Orange, grapefruit, caramel malts. Not too bitter. The aroma and flavor don’t mesh in bitterness projection. Having said that, it’s a very nice IPA. Super refreshing and easy drinking. Gromit (461), Port Orchard, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 This isn’t the best IPA I’ve ever had, but it’s very, very good.
Nice color and one of the best lacing left on the glass that I’ve seen in quite a while. Aroma is fruity but not just citrus. Flavor is well balanced with the malt, and it’s not just citrus slamming the taste buds, which is a nice change.
Palate isn’t the typical crisp finish, so it loses points here. It’s actually a bit creamy, but not overly so.
Overall, this is a solid beer, but doesn’t line up perfectly with the standard profile so its rating suffers from that, but it’s definitely a great beer. Props to Jaime. IrishBoy (2707), Bakersfield, California, USA
