Aroma of floral and citrusy hops. Flavor is malt (less sweet than usual for the style), floral hops, spices, and hemp. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Bradrcr (779), Renton, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 4/18/09 at Hops and Props, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is light and very citrusy with a bit of watermelon. Appearance is hazy orange with a well maintained white head. Flavor is light for an IPA with malt balance being near even to bittering with a lingering watrmelon finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with spritzy carb texture. Overall, quite good, but might not be big enough to satisfy some of the big IPaA crowd. CapnCascade (116), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Hazy orange pour, wispy white head with moderate retention and good lacing. Aroma is biscuity with distinctive spicy notes, oregano and Bolognese sauce. Sweet malt dominates the flavour initially before giving way to spicy hops, then a long spicy finish dominated by oregano and pepper notes. Full body, balanced carbo. Good. smprochak (23), Washington, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 13, 2009 Very smooth and lots of flavor. The color of this beer looked great too. One of the best IPA’s I’ve tasted. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2009 22 oz bottle, via 5000. Pours a slightly hazy orangish gold body with a nice one inch foamy off-white head that showed nice retention. The nose is laced with floral hops with a bit of a citrus note over a lightly toasty and caramel malt base. The flavor is fairly bright, the hops are more floral and perfumy tasting than I was expecting for a West Coaster. There’s a bit of an orange rind oil bitterness to it as well, especially on the finish. Much more of a "balanced" IPA than I was expecting. Toasty and on the drier side as far as the malt goes, but this does have a little sweetness on the back end. Medium bodied with a lingering moderately bitter finish and soft fizzy carbonation. This was OK, but it was a bit of a letdown for me. I was looking for something a bit more aggressive than this. maxa9 (20), , Washington, USA
